Hi guys,

I just dived on in and made a new thread about buying some rare N64 collectible items, but I thought that I should make a thread here too, as I want to experience that warm, fuzzy feeling that other posters have experienced after being so kindly welcomed by the rest of the crew .

Basically, I'm in quite a video game collecting minority, as I collect exclusively Nintendo 64. While two major setbacks (lack of finances and the fact that I will have to re-buy my 42 loose carts as I have decided to only collect CIB) mean that the task ahead of me is incredibly daunting, I plan to split my collecting into segments to lessen the intimidation.

My first task is going to be to collect a complete CIB PAL set, followed by a complete CIB NTSC-U set, and finally NTSC-J. Actually, I might switch the order of the latter two now that I'm thinking of it. In terms of UK/Aus variations in box and manual art, at the moment I'm mainly aiming for Australian, but will happilly buy UK versions for now.

After that, I've still got to try to get all the controller and console variations. I'm also trying to get up a decent sized proto/other rare items collection (see this thread: http://nintendoage.com/forum/mess...), which I plan to work on in the midst of these other sets.

I've decided to cross the line from "interested" into "nerdy and obsessed" like all of you, and put up an online want/trade list at some point in the future, which should help out immensely .

From what I've seen so far, this is an example of a fabulous forum, and everything from member attitudes to rules and organisation of different boards are clearly top-notch. While I can't promise any regular posting (other Internet and real life obligations get hard to juggle sometimes), I'll drop in when I can.

I look forward to meeting all of you. Sorry for the long post, I tend to rant.

Peace.

Cheers,
Franklint

Welcome to the site buddy.  If you ever have any NES accessories in their original box that you want to get rid of, I'm your man.

Welcome! Is the PAL library for N64 large? I know the American one is relatively small, only 300 or so titles.

Old aunts used to come up to me at weddings, poking me in the ribs and cackling, telling me, "You're next." They stopped after I started doing the same thing to them at funerals.

Woo, thanks guys! If what you say is true, Dain, I think I'll be right at home here .

dangevin, to answer your question, nope. It's even smaller than the North American and Japanese libraries. The PAL releases total around 242 different games. Unofficial lists don't seem to check out however, and it's proven hard to get a full, complete list. I don't find this to be a huge problem, as it will at least make it easier to collect a full set. While I think the system deserved more games, let's face it, it wasn't anywhere near as popular as the NES or SNES.

Cheers,
Franklint

Hey, children, play nice. I'll let you both know of any groovy NES finds I come across.

Greetings, Perthian! I have visited your city once, and liked it very much. Thanks a lot for keeping me in mind. I'll do the same for you. I'm assuming you're a NES collector like the rest of the rabble?

Cheers,
Franklint
