Maybe I am spoiled by how fast the forums load since the recent update. When I click on an NA hosted photo attached to a forum post, it takes forever to download and appear. Most times I just give up once I remember how long it takes. I'm used to photo appearing within seconds. Any idea if this is some sort of database lag, compression, etc? It basically renders any attached photo useless, unless I want to walk away for a minute and do something else.

Right now there's not much I can do about it. At some point in the near-ish future, we'll be moving all binaries to Amazon S3.

It usually takes ~5 seconds for the image to load. Dain, it might not be a bad idea to check the coding when you have some spare time to investigate - if there's a routine that's causing the delay, moving the binaries won't help. Not saying that you or anyone did anything wrong, but it could be an oversight somewhere that's being missed. If the pages are loading up quickly, and the attached images aren't, there could be some other underlying issue.

For me it can take anywhere from 10-20 seconds, and I run a decently fast computer. Glad I'm not the only one who noticed it.

Yep, I just skip peoples threads that have them attached right now. Way better linking them into the actual thread for me.

That is why I ALWAYS INSERT the image. No load times, just like Carts over disc's based systems

It does seem to be pretty damn slow, slower than it should be... sort of odd, but I'll look into it.

Images are still loading slowly. And no, it's not my connection either if you see where I'm connecting from

Not critical, but more annoying than anything.
