The tracking force difference between a good turntable and a bad turntable is astronomical. I used a Crosley for a few years before I really knew what I was doing, but when I finally upgraded to my Uturn Orbit I couldn't BELIEVE the difference in weight of the tonearm.
And I'm glad you haven't had any issues with skipping, but I know when I bought a 180 gram new release and attempted to play it the tonearm was using so much force that the needle would slide around. I assumed the record I bought was defective, but when I upgraded to my better turntable soon afterward it played flawlessly. Proper and balanced tracking force can make all the difference.
