I don't do these, and I don't represent them.

This company is doing custom game cases for ANY game I have including reproductions!

http://www.gamecaseworld.com/

I found out about these guys over ebay.

I just bought 12 reproduction cases that they are going to do for me:

Dragon Quest 1 & 2

Glory of Heracles III
Dark Law: Meaning of Death
King of Demons
BS Excitebike
BS Zelda - Map 1
BS Zelda - Map 2
Dragon Ball Z - Super Saiyan Densetsu
Oh No! More Zombies Ate My Neighbors
Sailor Moon: Another Story
Treasure of the Rudras
Ys 4: Mask of the Sun

They can do pretty much anything.  I was going to see if they can do some of the custom NES repro's I've had made.

Just thought I would share it with everyone

If anyone is LOOKING for certain repro/homebrews, I have a running repro company thread going as well as a lot of extras myself which include Limited Editions as well.  I'm also free to help answer questions and point people in the right direction so never hesitate to ask!  Here is the current list of repro companies.  Please let me know if I need to update it:

Are they simply selling universal game cases with inserts?

I think that is what they're doing as I'm pretty sure I've seen this website before.

That's pretty expensive.

You can buy the cases for $0.60/each shipped. And if you're getting the artwork from The Cover Project, you could probably get professional prints done for $2-$3 each.

ETA:  also, I'm going to go out a limb and guess that they're violating the terms of use of The Cover Project by selling the covers that people have submitted.

Yeah, the prices seem quite steep for those my man, but they look pretty nice.

Check out this really awesome WTB thread that I found, I heard this guy wants games at the cheapest rate possible!  Now on the look out for Unlicensed NES!

I remember like 3-4 years ago I got a spare Wii case and I checked with Fedex/Kinkos and I think to do on shiny paper the box art was like $3-4 or something near that. It seems to me if you can get a case for $1-3 shipped (or as arch pointed out those storage boxes for 60 cents shipped) you're better off, but as bad as $10 is it's priced just close enough for those who are too lazy to do the foot work.

I would like to chime in here becuase I've ordered from them before. The cases are awesome and the price included shipping. They even had a lot of rarer stuff that isn't available online and for some of my cases they even did their own design. Very happy with them.

Do you have an example of something they've done that isn't available on the Cover Project?

Skimming through their catalog it looks like their stuff is ripped directly from that site.

I had to contact them to ask, but they made a really cool cover for my repro Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together. I don't see it on their site, though. ?

They told me they have someone there that designs custom covers to order. For me at least, they did a really good job.

What's "rare" about them? They're new cases.

I was thinking the same thing.

This site seems like a good excuse to throw money away honestly.  They don't offer much of a service.  Everything offered can be found easily at a fraction of the price.

At $5 each it would be an OK price, I think, since you're talking about a minimal markup from the raw cost.

To let you guys know, the cases I need made were for SNES repro's that noone seems to have cases for.  It's easy to say that these guys are a rip off, but they are making custom cases for all my repro's including NES repro's that no cases are made for yet.

I did a art graphics label for SNES games topic and offered cash to anyone who would make me custom SNES label art (Not even print a label and ship, but just the artistic creative talent) and I got NO pm's from anyone to do this.

So far, I hear a lot of guys calling this company a rip off, but when I ask people to do it and I'm willing to pay, noone steps up to the plate.  I give a big kudos to Game Cases World for providing the service and doing the effort.  After I made my purchase, they gave me 4 extra case arts of my choosing for free to be custom made.  They do have a graphics guy that does them and their customer service was wonderful.

This company offers a service for collectors like me.  If you feel their prices are too high, then don't use them!

Well, when you get them in, post some pics. Frankly, I'd pay $5/case if I didn't have to cut out the damn tabs myself from the UMC's. That's such a pain in the ass.

Also, while they may do custom work and have a guy there that does graphics, I think most of the reaction you're seeing here is in response to them taking a lot of other people's work straight off www.thecoverproject.net.... However, they're definitely not the first to do it, and if you're going to post stuff on the internet, somebody is going to probably try to profit from it. Frankly, there's worse things to get bent out of shape over. I wouldn't be surprised if they don't get a C&D at some point because they're profiting off copyrighted materials. All it takes is one pissed off artist whose work they stole off Cover Project to start firing off emails to the rights holders reporting them.

gwyndion,

Did the custom cases you ordered from them ever arrive? If so - how do they look? Can you post some pictures?

I've been thinking of ordering a few of the cases you mentioned in your original post, but was wondering how they looked.

Thanks!

LOL, funny you should ask, I was just about to post the pics!

I received the game cases the other day and I finally had time to take pictures and post them:

These are just a few of the covers.  They also did Glory of Heracles III and some others for me.

Frankly, they had awesome customer service and since I bought 11 covers from them, they gave me an extra 4 for free!  At $10 a piece, I think these are awesome!

For those of you that think you can do a better job on your own, buy the cases and make your own covers.  Otherwise, use Game Case World and they do an EXCELLENT job!

I've already requested a few other covers so I'm very pleased.  I also had someone help me create custom labels for BS Zelda - Map 1 and BS Zelda - Map 2 which I am just waiting on getting printed and then attaching to the carts.

My shelf looks gorgeous with these boxes and it's much better then what I had the repros sitting in previously...

Just so you guys know, I just checked their website and they are doing cases for 6.99 now. Pretty good deal for custom work IMO.

I know this thread is being pulled back out of the graveyard but... I just checked out gamecaseworld.com again it looks like they're selling NES cases now! Decently priced and they cut the tabs / etc. I saw they had a few cases for some obscure titles too (I've never heard of "Bio Monster Jesus"???). Happy Christmas to me.
