This is some peoples reflections on the series and not official?

Correct. Similar to any of the video game books you see people announcing here on NA.

I see. Yeah stuff like that can be entertaining don't know about poems but i find myself watching and reading reviews of games that i already know inside out just to see what impact it had on others.

It was recommended to me that I should read "I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream" by Harlan Ellison. I found the concept very interesting, but it's simultaneously both brutal and thought provoking. It's a short story, so time investment is low if anybody is interested in checking it out. Some of you may recall the 1995 point-and-click PC game based off of the story.

Finally finished On Stranger Tides last night. It was rather good, but life got in the way of keeping pace on it. The five line sentences did not help. Debating re-reading The Lord of the Rings next. It feels like a good fall book, and it's been fifteen years since I read it all of the way through last. Fifteen years, that feels like a long time when I write it out...

I finished the first 2 books of The Gentlemen Bastards recently. The first one is great, the second one is still good, and I'm onto the third. They're fun, gritty fantasy books from a bad guy (thieves guild) perspective. I think the author tries hard to give at least a new background to the familiar fantasy tropes and the conflict in the stories isn't scrappy perfect good guy vs. ultimate evil world ender guy.

Just finished season 3 of Hap and Leonard and discovered that they cancelled the show.

Guess I need to pick up the books, since there are 20 of them, and they are a pretty novel blend of genres (adventure/crime)

That's somewhere down my backlog.  Right next to Malazan, Witcher, Stormlight Archive, Kingkiller, The Expanse, Lightbringer... and like a million others

I've gotten through several books since I last posted.

Listened to the Caspak Trilogy (The Land that Time Forgot, The Poeple that Time Forgot, Out of Time's Abyss) by Edgar Rice Burroughs. Really great stories with an interesting world concept.
Listened to Michael Strogoff by Jules Verne. Enjoyed that one, but I'm not sure if I agree with Daniel Doyce that it's Verne's best. It's up there for sure, though.
Listened to The Sixth Shotgun and The Rider of the Ruby Hills by Louis L'Amour. Good stories if you're into westerns.
Currenlty listening to The Forever War by Joe Haldemann.

Read The Call of the Wild and White Fang by Jack London. Read the former in 7th grade, and this was my first time reading the latter. Enjoyed both.
Still working on reading Les Miserables. Enjoying it, but other things keep getting in the way.
I'm also reading The Moonstone by Wilkie Collins. Very witty mystery novel. It has caused me to laugh out loud in the middle of reading multiple times. Looking forward to the ending.

The Moonstone has been on my list for a while. I mentally shelved it after The Who Was Thursday, but I'll bring it back from the abyss. I look forward to reading again...

So you've read it before? I'm about 2/3 of the way through, and I'm loving it!

Was out of town for the weekend so instead of lugging the stuff I was in the middle of I brought two shorter books to burn through

The Wasp Factory.  Loved it.  Very interesting set of psychopathic/insane characters

The Wasp Factory

The Giver.  Bought it for my boys and then decided I may as well read it for reference since I never did back in the '90s.  Way too brief, but then again I guess it is a childrens book.

The Giver (The Giver, #1)
