Today a new video by the folks of Watermelon was released showing the immense progress which has been made up to this point.

The team also made a anouncement regarding the funding of the project:

"The subscriptions for new investors for projectN will be closed on the 16th of October. From that point you will still be able to invest more GEMS but no new investors will be able to subscribe (subscription just need to register and invest at least one GEM in the project). So tell your friends because the investor's editions of the game and goodies are a must have, and once it's over, it's OVER, no crying (or "French Pleureuses") allowed!"

This is the only way to get credited in the game as a customer and get a special investor copy. So you've been informed, don't get mad because you did't get the chance Here's a link to the "Magical Game Factory":
http://www.magicalgamefactory.com...

Watermelon also said that a final release date will be anounced soon.

How much is the investment? When will the project be done? When will actual SNES carts be shipped out?

I clicked on the links but I couldn't find the info...

Ok, here is a direct link to the investor page:
http://www.magicalgamefactory.com...
Also, here is a FAQ about the investment system:
http://www.magicalgamefactory.com...

The first release date was already overdue since they had some problems to get enough graphics-staff, but this problem has been taken care of. A new release date will be announced soon.

I invested a long time ago in the project and I think it was $40-$60 for a CIB copy once it's released...

Why is the website so hard to use? Can someone explain how the hell you get/buy gems?

No, you have to go to the project that you want to support.

From what I've read, I have to invest at least 500 Gems, or $50 US to get the game, correct?  And do I have to pay for it immediatelly, or once the game is ready?

I'm really interested in investing, but again, I have no fucking idea what this entails, as you need to convert cash into ruples  and dandelions and all this shit-- Plus, I have no idea where to do this, and your links just add to the confusion. Not to mention, as you've stated, they're already late on this/other projects.
I wish things were simple and uncomplicated.

The gems you invested for a project can be used afterwards to pay the finished game.
These guys already have done a damn fine job with Pier Solar and I know the programmer of the game who already released some of the best SNES homebrew games up to this date. So I think I can say that this project can be trusted to be a success and up to par with other high quality nintendo-licensed releases of the Super NES.

I'll try to explain it simple, step by step, for those guys who are confused by the design of the webpage.
1. Click on this link: http://www.magicalgamefactory.com...
2. Click on "Sign in"
3. After you signed in, a new icon appears "invest in this project".
4: Write down the number of gems you want to purchse (10 gems= 1$)
5. Click on "Add to cart" and the gems will be added to your shopping cart.
6. Click on shopping cart (top right of the page) and end the purchase like any other online shop.
7. Congrats, you managed to invest in the project! ;P

For 200 gems your name will appear in the credits and for 500 you will get a special investors edition of the game.
These gems are not "used" after the investment and can be used after the project is finished to purchase the game or other things from their shop (10 gems=1$).

So, take this with a grain of sand, but the video was kinda awful, doesn't make me want to throw down cash, as I didn't really see much in the way of gameplay, besides some random screenshots...I will admit that I skipped through it as well.

Yea, I did the same with the video, but seeing how much I liked Peir Solar, I dropped the cash a while ago.

Yea, I'm on the same boat. I want to jump in and support it, but the video didn't do much to tell me what the game was all about.

Yeah, the video was really, really terrible.

These guys really need to work on their "elevator pitch"...

Video sucked and they aren't really even clear as to what genre of game they are making. From the limited screen shots (very limited) that were in the vid, it appears to be a RPG? Can anyone confirm this?

WM is rather vague on everything, finding any info on their website is difficult, and even purchasing is complicated by the gem system. That being said, I am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt simply due to Pier Solar. It does not appear to be an RPG, but rather an action adventure, to one degree or another. Here is the (not so clear) idea description from their website:

B:
Moby-Dick (for real!) meets journey to middle of earth meets Greek mythology (turned inside out). Gloomy, epic, obscur!
Here is the Synopsis:

Some time ago, Orpheus, our main hero, used to be a half-god and lived in the middle of the earth.
However he made ultimate outrage by leaving god's world for the "mortal" one and thus lost all his power.
The gods never forgave him and killed Orpheus's wife, a mortal, which now deposit in the "underworld".

Could she be saved? Orpheus believes so, and he is about to head with his dog (optional secondary player) back into god's worlds, a journey to the centre of the earth begins.

Top-view gameplay based on exploration and a ton of action. You'll go through several obscure places such as "the underworld", "the crystal caves", "mercury lakes", "the infinite stairs of Atlantis".

Will Orpheus be able to get his wife back to life? What if something far worse was about to happen?!

Graphically heavy, think about a old master painting that takes life."

When you sign up you get 20 free gems. I found out tonight in an e-mail from them that you need to invest at least 1 gem to be eligible to purchase an "investors copy" when ever they become available. Basically you can pre order it for free right now. You don't need to pay for anything.

It just takes some time to figure out their cryptic website.
