https://comics.ha.com/itm/video-g...

https://comics.ha.com/itm/video-g...

NES - Monster In my Pocket WATA 9.2 CIB - Was factory sealed, but NGD opened back in the day to check monster - BEAUTIFUL copy - comes with the orange monster - cart and manual both hit a 9.8 and the box had some wear so it graded an 8.5.  It's SO nice. - $132
https://comics.ha.com/itm/video-g...

NES - Star Voyager Hangtab first version/print WATA 9.0 CIB - Another INSANE hangtab to find in spectacular condition - box had some weird ghosting to the front, hence the 8.5, but everythign else was beautiful (9.4 cart, 9.2 manual, also includes the GSI poster at a 9.4 - essentially this copy and it's contents are untouched - $104

What's Heritage Auctions? Why not use eBay or auction them here?
Also why doesn't the label on the WATA case mention the game is opened? If you didn't say anything I would have assumed it was sealed.

  • The label on the front says CIB.
  • It's also easily identifiable by the description from HA, which states
    • A: The title
    • B: The grade
    • C: The state - either CIB or Sealed and Sealed grade.
  • The label on the back reads the subgrades.  All three major components are included in the subgrades to get an overall grade
    • I.E. Donkey Kong - Box 6.5, Cart 6.5, Manual 7.5.  Box is considered 50% of total grade, cart is considered 30% of total grade and manual is considered 20% of total grade.  Amalgamated they give you an overall grade of 6.5 on this title - realistically you could bump the grade if you were to get better components.  Wata will also grade GSI (game specific inserts like a Tyson Letter, Zelda Map or a unique card to a game), but the GSI will not affect the overall grade.

What's Heritage Auctions? Why not use eBay or auction them here?

  • Heritage Auctions is the largest auction house in the world for collectibles.
  • NintendoAge traffic has fallen off over the last 5 years and the site doesn't get nearly as many visitors.
  • eBay is a great site for items, don't get me wrong, but HA offers an opportunity to people who don't normally shop on eBay. It's exposure to a new market and new collector to games
  • eBay has also turned into a Buy It Now market place that allows for poor market tracking and an actual realized value of games - sites like GVN and Price Charting offer great services, but they are hampered with inaccurate data when items are listed inaccurately, poorly or under priced and the BIN gets killed.  With all that said, I still use and will continue to use eBay to sell many items.
  • In Heritage Auctions, my items actually sell, and do quite well and I don't have to wait for someone to hit the Buy It Now

It's exciting for me to work with both companies - Wata and HA - Wata is creating a standard that allows for consistant grading and proper terminology that our hobby has lacked for years. HA for the reasons stated above.  The  days of "games were meant to be played" are over - no shit, they were meant to be played - but this is easily do-able on virtual console or through a Retrozone PowerPak on real hardware. Nobody collects mint games, rare or sealed games to play them.

Follow up to their customer service today. It shouldn't be too hard - if you continue to have hangups let me know! I have a Black Robodemons going this week.

Do games often get listed on Heritage Auctions? I'm a pretty high end collector, should I be shopping on there instead of elsewhere?

It's a new marketplace for games and as it grows I think all video game collectors will be doing themselves a huge favor to watch/buy games on the site. Some items have sold well under market value since Jan., while some have sold for above market value. It shouldn't go unnoticed to game collectors looking for a deal on a mid rarity in an open auction format - even if cases aren't your thing the games can easily be removed without damaging the game - the case will however be damaged, but you can still Store the game in the case if you wish.

It should be noted that they only sell Wata certified games since Wata uses consistent standards on condition and correct terminology when identifying a game.

Bah, should have known it was your MK...I got one going in like 2 weeks lol. I think they'll do well there, and they are getting scarce.

Very surprised that DW IV doesn’t have more activity, at least not yet. Maybe just the first is more well known, even though IV is the better game and one of the best on the system.

Good luck this week!

^ the DW games in general but esp 2,3,4 are really overdue for a bump price wise sealed IMO. They've been the same price way too long despite being scarce and popular

WTB Cdn sealed black boxes, sealed Cdn first party titles.    I.e. the "mattel" Cdn boxes with both french and english.   Mainly black boxes, zelda, link, and tyson, but let me know what you have.    I am interested in anything I don't already have!

Yeah, I think so, but it might depend on if the sequels resonate emotionally the same way the original does. A lot of people had moved to new systems when the sequels came out. Heritage, in particular, seems to be a lot about the emotional connections to games/characters versus rarity, at least for the time being. We’ll see, it’s definitely interesting to watch.

Its a big, well known franchise with lots of sequels. That should help it long term.

Hmm, looks like it was a 9.8 A++, basically as pristine as it could get?  Has to be comparable to a VGA 95 or so.  Not familiar with the pop report on it but the "black label" (not the junk PC that is available by the case load) and a legit first party Nintendo start of a franchise, seems low to me.  I'd expect that one to be at least $1500+.

WTB CIB MINT Games: NES - SNES - N64 - Sega Genesis - Turbografx 16
Last Beat: West of Loathing (Switch)

I dunno, a pretty decent black label on Ebay just went for $125, so I'd say $1000 is a pretty great get, even at that grade.

You left out the MK for $410 btw, Bronty. Great price for the seller.

its fucking fzero.       There are endless amounts of them, even black label.

Granted its a mint copy, but I still think that's a strong result.
