Sign into google, then you will have a red EDIT button on the left side. Click that button and you are in edit mode. You can now zoom in and place a marker by hand (right click on the map) or you can use the top search bar to search for a location.

You definitely don't want to post your real address.

In general, though, the point isn't to know people's addresses, just general location.

So if anyone did put a pin to their address, you should probably change it to somewhere just in the city/town in which you live.

This isn't a public map. I changed that originally, I probably should have said something, my apologies. Only people with the direct link will be able to see the map. However, even with that said, I wouldn't type your actually address in there. Pin it to your street and all should be well.
