So kind of a necro bump, but wanted to see about next years.

What would you guys feel about dragon warrior's gold chest glitch being used? I was wanting to try to speed run dragon warrior, and try that out. To do that, I'd need to abuse a glitch in the game that takes 20 mins to do, but saves about 1-2 hours of grinding for gold. I hope to beat the game in about 7 hours this way. My goal is to actually try to beat Zelda, Metroid, DW 1 and final fantasy in one day. One day total, not each.

Edit: i guess I should point out it's not a glitch that will allow me to skip sections, or beat bosses or anything like that.  So it's not on par with any game breaking glitches, it's just a step above Zelda 1 door glitch.

I was planning on trying to beat Zelda, Metroid, Dragon Warrior and Final Fantasy all in the same day, but I've not gotten around to speed running the last two (First two you don't need to speed run, both are 45 min games with moderate skill)

Ah, but the full NES library has never TRULY been finished...

But then again, it could be said that something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I'm curious if the high bidder of the $873.04 Stadium Events (cart-only) realizes that it's nowhere nearly as rare as about 20+ games I can think of that sell for 1/10th that amount?  At any rate, I wanted to draw attention to this trend: if people say it's rare, it must be true, and therefore it must be had at any price."

That's the plan for 2016, right? US + PAL, licensed + unlicensed?

I think it'd be awesome if people threw real muscle into the SNES effort, though it's the toughest one of all in some ways.

EDIT: Never mind, looks like Rally Bike has been updated -- cool.

Which, the SNES or the NES licensed + unlicensed set? SNES is typically 720 or 725 depending on who's counting; Rooster lists it as 722 but I've never been able to follow his math.

To get NES licensed + unlicensed, take what's in this thread and add 91, as seen here.

Sorry, I should have been specific. I meant how many games is that, in total, when you factor in the PAL titles? Or, better yet, how many PAL exclusives are there? I probably should have just asked that.

AFAIK after removing dupes and unbeatable games we end up with 677 US licensed, 34 PAL licensed exclusives, and 91 unlicensed in the NES library.

I don't think I will be able to put as much effort on this in 2016 as I did this year, at least in the early months of 2016.
I am dealing with a lot of stuff in my personal and professional life, but I bid you all exquisite people good luck on this endeavour.

I will still knock out the odd game or two, specially from the unlicensed set, which was criminal to leave aside this year.

Beatrice, if unlicensed IS making a return, I'll be contributing to this thread for sure. Probably not to the level that you did this year, but I'll definitely be making a dent in the list

And if PAL games return, I'll take out the ones you did last year! I'll try anyways. Over Horizon is a grind.

Over Horizon is quite the grind yes, and I will take some of the pal games out still because I am crazy for some of them.
I might take my time and beat the game that cost me the 1st spot in the list this year, Mutant Virus.
But I will certainly beat some unlicensed games here and there. There are a bunch that I absolutely love.

But other people will have to fill in for me at the licensed list.

Good luck with The Mutant Virus. I had my system on pause for a week when I beat it. I like the game, but not enough to beat it again, that's for sure!

I was really put off playing Mutant Virus by that bugged pixel that makes it hard to complete one level. It's hard enough without fighting bugs.

I'm hoping to contribute a lot more than last year. Definitely not the level of previous years, but I'm hankering to cross some more NES games off my beaten list and get some new vids up on my channel!!
