NEW - The Incident from Khan Games

I just finished my impressions/review video on the demo for Legends of Owlia. Spoiler alert: I loved it.

And because I'll keep this thread updated with other reviews, here's my take on Swords & Runes.

Thank you for taking the time to do this. It will be great for the community! And I agree, Legends of Owlia is amazing! Can't wait for the full version.

There's a pretty annoying hum in the audio (maybe air conditioning?) in the Owlia video, not present in the Swords & Runes video. It would be good to eliminate that in future videos. Other than that, good work, it's always nice to see homebrew games getting exposure.

It's the AC. Short of turning it off (in Florida: not a good idea) there's not much I can do about it besides wait for the cycle to turn. My house is terrible for acoustics. But because of my son I have limited window of opportunity to even record. I try and filter it out as best I can but there wasn't much I could about this particular recording.

I didn't notice the hum so it must've not been too bad. I've been really enjoying your videos. Good stuff!

Oh I noticed it in editing. But I didn't want to lose another night to rerecord it. I'm looking at getting some acoustic foam in my den/office area. Hopefully that will help.

Also thanks everyone for the feedback and support. I just really love this hobby and honestly making this stuff is really fun for me. Plus I love sharing great games with other people. G-Type found something new to play. That's awesome.

No problem. I enjoyed making it.

So not a homebrew, but I don't want to create a ton of threads. Arabian Nights is a traditional turnbased RPG for the (translated) Super Famicom.

Soundproofing material can get expensive, but you can use egg cartons as a cheap alternative in the meantime. We used to do this when recording our demos back in the day and it helped a lot.

I never noticed any humming, maybe because I also live in Florida and either my AC drowns out stuff or I'm just used to hearing it.

I may try out egg cartons, sounds like a good idea. I've tried to take out my AC sound with audio software like audacity, but it comes with a cost: I can take the sound out, but it leaves the audio sounding anything but lossless. =\

Yeah I was running a filter for the noise on the past few videos, but just left it off this one. I'd rather have the low hum than the flat sound.

Thanks for making videos like this for homebrews. It was finding out about homebrews on YouTube that led me to Nintendo Age. I love the format! Keep making them.
