i'm getting around 15,000 with the pot bonus on the first stage. are you guys taking the secret route??

Woot farthest I have ever gotten.. 4/4.. so close!

Oh, and on the first stage the most I can come up w/ is 15,090 (pretty sure that's the number)

15,000? are you sure, I have no idea what im missing I swear I hit everything, I must be missing a secret, I get 12510 each and every time and I can do that level with my eyes closed.

Yeah, I'm taking the little warp thingy. Very nice score, I got really lucky after playing about 3 hours to post what I had Imma try to see what I can do after work today.. I'm getting a little better at the later levels now after seeing them a few times. I watched a speed run on youtube of the game, and OMG this dude is NUTS seriously!

Good thing I really dont have a social life so i can try to beat you this weekend. LOL!

got up to 200k!! Damn foxes on 3-4. they are starting to piss me off!!!

yeah I just got up to 200k, the foxes don't really bother me. hey did you guys notice the famicom controllers come up sometimes after you beat them, they have not shown up the last 4 times I played.. I wonder what im not doing to get them?

The only way they spit out a controller is if you killing them after they get in front of you.

^ no thats not the case, thats what I was thinking but because I always kill them when there behind me I was wondering why I got it like 50 percent of the time, I just read you have to jump once and then kill him before he passes you to get the controller...

Then you must just have to jump once while the fox is visible and then kill them. I always thought you could only get it if you killed them after they passed you. I always just hit em once behind me to freeze them, then as I jump over them peg em off in front of me. Interesting to know you can get controller without jumping over them.

Well I'm a bit rusty, and I only had time for two games, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to play for score on the BEST NES GAME EVAR... so here you go - only got to 7-2 and missed a bunch of stuff, but managed  442,760:



Here are some tips for the young 'uns:

-once you've got firepower, shoot ALL rocks and rolling boulders.
-"ABS" - "always be shooting," looking for bonus items (rings are worth 2000 pts each) or bonus levels.
-Get ALL fruit, especially once you've got the flower multiplier for that level.
-Get the doll on EVERY level, INCLUDING the hidden ones.
-hidden egg pattern: fire power, red milk, ring, ring, ring, Master Higgins doll (1up), repeat (starting again with the red milk if you've already got your fire power). NOTE: pattern resets upon death and you can only have 8 men max in reserve.
-You'll get three free men from score, and that's IT, so you better get good at staying alive and hunting down those little Master Higgins dolls

Nice score Morbis! I knew you'd bury me if you gave this a shot. i think this attempt I had gotten to 6-4 or 7-1? I had no idea where most of the pot bonuses were on later levels, and I didnt feel like peeking at an FAQ cuz thats kinda cheap, or my score would probably be a little higher.
Im too burned out to try to top you, but I thinkl you got this one covered, nice playing!

Damn, I was on level 5 with 7 dudes, no deaths, and I totally choked it all away.
I might try once more tommorow but I'm totally burned out on this for now haha

BTW, a perfect score on the 1st level is 15120 i believe. Thats the highest I get.

Dr. Morbis, thanks for those great tips! I didn't know about the flower multiplying the fruit score. Unfortunetly I won't be posting my score since as of now it won't matter. But I had a ton of fun with this game. Best of luck to anyone who can beat his score!
