Money Orders only might keep the cost down some, but it'll still fetch a pretty penny.

...and the box is faded pretty bad, but still a good pick up for anyone who isn't too concerned about those things.

-------------------------

My mantra, as worded by SamSpade on 06/12/12:
I don't resell to fund my collection, I don't treat this hobby like a second job, I don't care if my collection is worth ten bucks or ten thousand because I never plan on selling it. Seriously, what does the value have to do with anything if you never plan on selling? Speculation doesn't mean jack shit to me at this point, I just want to play my nes games...

I'm going to sell my NM box after this closes. I got some good offers in PM but I was curious to see what eBay would bring first.

I placed a joke bid of $101 on this. Already I got a fake second chance offer.

So you think it is a scam then? I live in Wisconsin and was highly considering puttting a snipe on it but the whole money order only thing scared me off.

The auction itself isn't a scam. The fake second chance offer is. The seller didn't do the second chance offer, some random idiot did. I have no idea how they get my info, but I sent him this:

I just want to know how you figured out that I bid on this item, and how you got my email address. I know it's a fake second chance offer, blah blah who cares. I get these all the time. How did you A) figure out my eBay ID (since eBay hides them now) and B) figure out my email address (since even if you know my eBay ID, eBay still will not give out my email address).

Answers to my questions would be appreciated. See ya.

beware of those second chance offers... There was a TV show in Germany two days ago that reported about some program, that automatically identifies email adresses of bidders who didnt win, and will then autmatically send an second chance offer email. This only applies to bids over 100$ though.  Ebay states, they have fixed that security leak by now but who knows...

Wow, that's good information. I'd like to know what the program is called (not to use it of course) and who the hell programmed it.

Also, if eBay says they fixed it, then there's a 99% chance that they didn't.

I'm wondering if this information is still available to users who have setup and ebay developers ID (using their SDK and sandbox). It's one thing to have the whole plugged on the outside, but an entirely different beast to close the hole from the inside.

They said the program could be found within the webspace of a school in luxemburg, on the account of a certain student. Maybe he was the one who did the programming, but apparently the script was used by different people...
no wonder that this very account is removed by now...

All that info is second hand though, I have it all from this article , but oh well, its in German so probably of no use to any of you... dont know if it applies to american ebay. just stay wary !
