Just FYI, the most common (and only?) mods aren't actually mods. That is, they run off of a USB drive in a controller port, and once removed, the system is factory-fresh.

Yup, gamestop or someplace similar is your best bet.
I actually love the PS1 Classic, for if nothing else, it was purchased en masse by scalpers, and hopefully sold at a large loss  
Honestly, it's not a bad system at all, and for $30 it's a darn good one. This will eventually sell out and then prices will go up again.

$30 for the two controllers alone is worth it. The controllers are well made.
