okay. I've been working for over a year on my secret nes project, and the wife says its time to nut up or shut up.

I've essentially broken my nes down to barebones, stripped off the controllers (just wires coming out of player 1 and 2) and, in the interest of being able to play 4 players with the completed console, decided to hardwire a four score into the nes.

so, being kinda smart i wrote down what color wires match what pins, and for the most part it works. except for 4 player games. always a fail.

SO! I ask you, the nes dev community for help. where can i find (or can you post up) what pin numbers (wire colors would be even better, but i'll deal) from the four score connect to player one and two.

I have:

4 score -> NES
CONTROLLER 1
blue-> brown
orange-> red
brown-> orange
red-> yellow
purple-> purple

CONTROLLER 2 (i think this is the prob)
green-> red
yellow-> yellow

does this make sense to anyone? has anyone done this before?

okay. it's purple wire from the 4 score to white wire controller 1 (not purple to purple as i have previously posted). I saw i wrote down the 4 score's purple wire was at pin position 5 on controller 1, so it should get the 5 pin on the console, controller 1, which is the white wire (i think that's the volt wire).

i still don't have zapper support using the 4 score, but since the 4 score doesn't have any wiring to connect to 6 adn 7 (blue and purple on the deck's controller 1 input), it doesn't seem like it would work.

so:

-could someone let me know if they have zapper support (test duck hunt) with the four score (make sure you're on two player)
- has anyone else hardwired their four score to their nes console during a mod? before and after pics?

I am almost certain the Four Score has no Zapper support. I replaced all the wires so I don't know the colors, but this has the Four Score hardwired in with the buttons sticking out the side.  Original ports were used and 2 more added.  The original ports still have their Zapper wires connected too.  Thats an old dev system I don't use anymore, should make a better one...

Sounds like something you should auction off if you're not using it anymore...
