First, I want to emphasis that NONE of this is going to be sold and that I purchased everything strictly for my collection. For those of you who just want to see the pretty pictures, scroll down. Those of you who want a little back story, start here.  I've been trying to piece my collection together strictly from finding stuff locally and the few trades/purchases here on NA and completely avoiding Ebay, hell I don't even have an Ebay account. The only things in my collection from ebay are a SMB3 Famicom cart from my mom's boyfriend and my Mario Pepsi bottlecaps from my sister.  That's one reason this find was so huge for me. About a week before Scott (crazyhoratio) posted that he was trying to sell his boxes/manuals from Game Xchange he posted it locally on craigslist and I swung by the next day and told him I'd be interested in any boxes/manuals I needed for my collection and we set a time for me to meet up and go through everything. As I was going through everything I sat 1 and only 1 of everything I needed off to the side, I had went in with the intention of only buying what I needed no matter what duplicates I left, and I left some really nice duplicates (Best of the Best, Powerblade 2, RC Pro-Am 2, and plenty of others). I wanted others to have a chance to get stuff they needed too. Scott and I then agreed on a price of $2.50 per item (which luckily for me came to a total just under what my tax return was ). I may have overpaid for a lot of the manuals but for someone trying to complete as much of his collection locally as possible I don't think I did too bad overall ... Most of the boxes are in excellent condition, a few are pretty trashed, but the majority of the rare ones are mint or near mint.

The refolding process

Non-HT Balloon Fight, FFF Athletic World

BotB is in nice condition

HT Clu Clu Land

Non-HT DK3

DK Jr. Hangtab tore off but DT2 is mint

F2 may be a little sunfaded I can't quite tell for sure and it does have the BB barcode sticker on the back

LS is mint, MM is first release and just a little beat

PR and PB2 are both super nice

SMB3 was the Bros. under the M variant that I didn't have

Tennis is pretty sunfaded and TMNT TF is nice on the front but has a maybe water damage kinda wavey like back

Volleyball and WG are both nice and HT boxes

Fire and Ice is missing the cover

And the shelf that I built for the boxes... The top is a little crooked but not too bad for an amateur

Never fear, Jim has boxes and boxes of box protectors on the way for me!

Rad! You got a ton of the boxes that are tough/super expensive to get, that's a great haul.

Amazing score there. In one fell swoop, you practically knocked out every truly rare licensed NES box, and a good many of the scarcer titles .

My understanding of how the boxes worked was something like this. If they had a game and didn't have a box they made a scan and put it in a DVD case or such, if they had a game and had the box, then the box went out on the shelf for display and the game in the back, if they didn't have the game/had multiple boxes for a game/or sold all the copies of the games they had then the boxes went on the back shelf and if they needed more room on the back shelves then they folded up the extra boxes and boxes they didn't have games for. That's why the majority of the rare boxes are in such good shape with the more common boxes being more random as to what shape they are in.

Seriously. $2.50? You can barely get games that cheap...

If it's the Game XChange guy you're thinking of, I actually got all of these from him before he created his NA account. He posted locally on Craigslist a few weeks before that he was going out of business so as soon as I saw it I swung by his store and asked him what he was doing with the boxes and to call me as soon as he knew. The list he posted in his thread was what was left, which was still a lot of good NES stuff. Not to mention I didn't take any of the SNES or N64 stuff, I did get to look at all the pretty boxes tho haha.

I know MM 5 was the only box he didn't have, and on another funny side note... The only MM3 box he had was the one I got which is horribly sunfaded, for a game I find so often as a cart I would have thought he would have had multiple MM3 boxes laying around

We've had a ton of really good finds posted here over the years, but as far as finds that are completely for a collection, and nothing extra for resale, I'd say this tops them all. Amazing haul man!
