You know I just happened to check my serial number on my system today, and yes I still play it occasionally. I think it is N0000001 the power supply says N0000002. I have to double check when I get home. Can someone send a pic to see where the serial number is located just to make sure.

You mean NES 001 and the Power Supply is NES 002 the serial number is as pictured above in the thread on the bottom of the system with a silver like sticker.

Hi to all the people here.
I'm from Italy and 2 days ago I bought a Nes (European, PAL A, italian Mattel version) for euro 25.00 with Orange Zapper (in box) (I already have the grey zapper in box) with this serial: PM109134. After the "Entertainment System" there isn't the "TM"! (trademark)
My old NES serial number (PAL A, Italian, Mattel version) is: PM1700993, the console is rough and after the "Entertainment System" there is a "TM".
Excuse me for my bad english, I hope someone can help me to understand if my models are rare or good for the collectors, thank you!

Hi Everyone. Just joined the forum, but I've been a huge gamer since I got my Atari 2600 back in Christmas 1981 (which I still have today). Got my NES (Control Deck box with free Super Mario Bros) back on Oct 12, 1986. S/N on mine is N0224888. Since Day 1, I had a feeling the serial numbers were sequential, but until recently, I didn't think 224888 was really all that low of a number. I'm wondering if mine is a test market one. Also got a textured toaster model with S/N: 24021079.

the Mattel version NES (the one with "TM" mark) is not really rare, they're always seems on ebay Italy and Australia. however the most rare was the one that got smooth surface casing shell, and its front door lid got "R" mark at Nintendo logo side as well as the "nothing at all" variant. the Italian NES aka "Versione Italiana" also getting rare as well as my Asian NES too. here my thread link. hopes it can help you.

My Top Loader is over 4 million. I wonder how many of those were produced, and if I have one of the final ones. I know for a fact I bought it in August of 1997 brand new at Kay-Bee Toys. I already had an n64 at that point, but we went on a cross country RV trip that summer, and we stayed at a relative for a few days that had an NES hooked up....I was instantly addicted again.

Cintoman: Yours is not a test market NES. The test market NES systems were all Deluxe Sets without the "Deluxe Set" text on the front of the box, and would've come with ROB, Gyromite, and Duck Hunt.

Trj22487: I believe the serials for all top-loaders are 4xxxxxx. It depends on those last six digits as to where yours falls in the production line (mine is either 4013xxx or 4016xxx if memory serves me correctly)

Every NES is worth keeping. The only SN that would command a premium would have to be pretty low. And by that, I mean under the thousands. Actually, make that the hundreds. I know for sure we have found as low as N0009000 on this forum, and if I am not mistaken, an even lower number has shown up. I cant remember what the exact number was, though.

Edit: After actually reading the rest of this topic, N0006190 is the current lowest. In any event, the value of any low SN console would be purely personal. Most people would probably not really care one way or another. Myself, on the other hand, I would love to find a sub 1000 SN. Putting a monetary value on it would be subjective.

There can't be many out there that have survived with a lower serial. Very cool.
