has anyone else ever modded a system i am make a big system now nes snes sega
ps2 atari and a couple others if any one can show me what they have done that would be great
For Nintendo just my TurboNES it has a 4.1mhz overclock on a switch, headphone jack and fan. Of course the Paint was custom. I have to add a coin insert button next. Then get another one for my CopyNES.
That VB sign was so worth $14.
That is a fan from a DC and the mesh is from a PS2 .
Pedro, that looks great... what kind of paint did you use and are there any tricks (sanding, etc) to make it have that finish? I'd like to make my own mod too, just haven't decided what to have it look like.
It's just black primer with a dry brushing of a metallic model paint. I'm going to stencil maybe a skull logo or something on the top, and possibly add a light coming out of the vent, and faux rust around the bolts. And thank you. Once I get a finished product I'm happy with, I'll be selling them on ebay.
i used the krylon plastic spray paint i got at walmart. it is the "hammered" color. i want to paint some yellowed controllers i have, but it seems like a pain.
Not really, just put packing tape over the templates/buttons and use an X-acto knife to carve away around the edge. You can be messy with the tape and you[ll just fix it with the knife. Tape up the cord a few inches and put the heads of three Q-tips in the screw holes. Spray away. No disassembly necessary, nice clean edges on the front. You'll still have a little grey showing around the buttons but if you pick a striking enough color you won't even notice (try yellow as your spray color!)
well i guess you could jsut take out the screws in the bottom then where the power plugs into you can jsut take those 2 screws out and then jsut have the shell to paint
Heres some picts of what was my dev system for a long time. The most important addition was the parallel port CopyNES. Also added the mostly useless LCD that gives some info about what the CopyNES is doing. Then I added the guts of a Four Score with the turbo buttons sticking out the side. Finally there are no case screws and no shielding so I can easily get inside for debugging.
