I was excited, until I saw it was a rom hack
Yeah, it looked pretty bad. Glad I'm not the one that bought it.
I thought the person who did the NES version finally released the carts. Here's what I'm talking about:

I thought that those were just fake game mock-ups? An artist's dreams type thing. I seem to recall some sort of Japanese version though. To the internets!
Maybe, I'm not 100% sure. The Japanese version is also for Genesis
I don[t know, he does show a screen cap that appears to be from a curved tube TV. Pretty eleborate for a fake game to get fake screenshots displayed on a CRT. But upon closer inspection, it appears to be an image filter applied to an NES screenshot rather than actual gameplay. Screen is curved (not an LCD) but there's absolutely no evidence of phosphor moire pattern which almost always happens when you try to photograph a CRT. I'm calling fake screenshot.
There was also the youtube video showing some actual game progress but the timestamp was over a couple years ago so it appears the author may have abandoned the project or never released the ROM. It would be floating about by now, finished or not.
And yes Dra600n, I'm aware of the Japanese Megadrive port, but yours is superior. I downloaded the Japanese ROM at one point but it lacked the wonderful intro animations and gameplay polish yours did.
But I agree, the Lode Runner ROM hack was horrid. I feel bad for whomever bought it if they were expecting an actual homeebrew arcade port rather than a display piece for the shelf.
