Yeah, it looked pretty bad. Glad I'm not the one that bought it.

I thought the person who did the NES version finally released the carts. Here's what I'm talking about: http://simply-awful.blogspot.com/...

I thought that those were just fake game mock-ups? An artist's dreams type thing. I seem to recall some sort of Japanese version though. To the internets!

Maybe, I'm not 100% sure. The Japanese version is also for Genesis

I think that it was probably a link to the hack Startdust mentioned, as it cartainly did not attain the heights of the wonderful Genesis version. It was a while ago that I ran across it, long before I saw the movie and figured out what it was. Buried in the screen capture archives somewhere...

I don[t know, he does show a screen cap that appears to be from a curved tube TV. Pretty eleborate for a fake game to get fake screenshots displayed on a CRT. But upon closer inspection, it appears to be an image filter applied to an NES screenshot rather than actual gameplay. Screen is curved (not an LCD) but there's absolutely no evidence of phosphor moire pattern which almost always happens when you try to photograph a CRT. I'm calling fake screenshot.

http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-NJD1hLLNEQk/UQm2AYjF5bI/AAAAAAAAA58/DR-7nODP8IA/s1600/ss1.png

There was also the youtube video showing some actual game progress but the timestamp was over a couple years ago so it appears the author may have abandoned the project or never released the ROM. It would be floating about by now, finished or not.

And yes Dra600n, I'm aware of the Japanese Megadrive port, but yours is superior. I downloaded the Japanese ROM at one point but it lacked the wonderful intro animations and gameplay polish yours did.

But I agree, the Lode Runner ROM hack was horrid. I feel bad for whomever bought it if they were expecting an actual homeebrew arcade port rather than a display piece for the shelf.

I'm actually surprised none of the NES brewers here did this game yet, to be honest.

Hi, and welcome to NA!

This has been out for sometime now. I don't know if Dra600n is still making carts but you can send him a PM. I love mine and it's an awesome homebrew port.

He does not

I'm honored to see people still talking about this, though!

I tried to find a download link here (I'd been told in Youtube that there was one on this forum) but, as I couldn't, I had to ask another youtuber who uploaded a gameplay video. He gave me this link: http://www.filedropper.com/fixitf....
I hope that this helps, the link is working.

I think that's a rom hack of wrecking crew, I believe. I don't recall ever seeing an actual NES port/homebrew of the game, unfortunately.

Word. If they don't post screenshots in the auction, I'd be very suspicious. There's a rather bad Lode Runner hack being passed around as an actual Fix It Felix homebrew.

I'm sure some of the repro guys are making Fix It Felix homebrews on Genesis now. I would contact before ordering to verify if it's the Japanese version or Dra600n's. The Japanese ROM is decent from a gameplay perspective, but the OP's is much superior. If there's no intro cutscene or Ralph voice acting, it's the Japanese version.

You're right, I was thinking of the Loderunner hack. Future Driver's version is awesome, but I wish it were more than 1 level - I like the way she did the bricks coming down better than the way I did them.

LOL. From Nerdy Nights week 2:

""" This week: general overview of the "Bacon" Entertainment System architecture with the major components covered. All general purpose computers are arranged the same way with a place to store code (ROM), a place to store variables (RAM), and a processor to run code (CPU). The "Bacon" Entertainment System also adds another processor to generate the graphics (PPU) and a section of the CPU to generate audio (APU). Everything here is very general and will have more details than you want in the next few weeks. """

Also, in one of my recent posts the word "thread" was replaced by "yarn". But I don't know exactely the meaning in this contex, unfortunately.

I missed all the bacon avatars, but found it entertaining with all the word changes lol (I mainly use the vintage site on my phone, so I caught the word swap toward the end of the night). Good ol April fools for ya!
