Suikoden 2 is one of the best RPGs of all time IMO.  I wish they would have kept all the Suikodens in the same timeline. I've played all of them and I wish they would have kept the story around Flik and Viktor because they are awesome.

On topic:  I am playing Mafia 2 now and it is an awesome game.  Suprising how no one has done a gangster video game this well yet.  Their years of hard work making this game has paid off.

X Men 2 Clone Wars on the sega genesis. Such a great game and it's so much better than the first. I love how each of the X-Men are drawn to look just like the comics. Beast's sprite looks like it was made by Jim Lee himself.

^^I think the first X-Men game on the Genny is very underrated. I agree that Clone Wars is superior, but the first one boasts above average graphics and very solid gameplay.

The Immortal. Decent game, but I feel as though I've seen the "Prepare to Continue" screen way too much already.

Final Fantasy on the NES for the first time. I've never been a huge RPG fan, but I'm finding myself totally addicted to it.

-------------------------

My NES collection count: 757 games (16 to go for a full set)

Latest Purchase(s): Snow Brothers

"Wait...Bimmy and Jimmy??  How'd they make a mistake like this!?  Bimmy isn't even a real name!"

I never played it on the nes, just the Final Fantasy Origins version of it with somewhat upgraded graphics.

I myself am tackling Valkyrie Profile and I'm near the end of it. Aside from that, I've been playing Rastan on the SMS and I just gave Alien Soldier a trial run and it's sweet.

Honestly, I'm not "playing" anything, per se. I want to start playing Guardian Legend again, but I lost my password. (it's a long ass game)

FF1 on the NES is damn hardcore just because of the archaic design of it, which is why later PS1 and GBA releases made changes. The AI was too stupid to re-target another enemy so if you kill it, every other idiot pisses away a turn. Also, no magic points, just magic class turns. You get X uses of a spell from a set of 3 on a line and that's it, done, no ether, no refill, sleep in a tent/cabin or head back to town which gets pretty rough on you in various places. Around that, cash drops are ridiculously low so you need to rot a very long time around various towns to rank up enough to buy the gear/spells you need, let alone get around that whole thing I said about limitations and long runs. It's a damn fun and fine game, but time will really need to be spent with it to get to a spot you can live going forward. Later releases added in an 'easy' mode which ramped it down to other cart based FF's difficulty, and also added in a MP system and ethers to buy/find. I have a FF1 cart again due to a lot 3 weeks ago, messed with it enough to whack Bikke the pirate, doubt I'll finish it as the GBA one spoiled me rotten.

As for me I got some yummies at the swap meet yesterday. Today I figured out Ice Hockey and NES World Cup(Kunio games rock!)'s mechanics and won some, also did 2 sectors of Power Blade and shot up the place for awhile on Gotcha. I also ended up with Karnov, Mach Rider, Mega Man6, Double Dribble, (NWC is the 2pk with Super Spike Vball), Solar Jetman and Ninja Gaiden. I just scratched the surface of the others so far. I find fun seeing how far I can nickel and dime swap meet vendors to see how much I can stretch $20, apparently 10 games.

I just played it myself for the first time this year. It turned out to be a lot better than I'd expected.

I'm playing through Super Mario RPG: Legend of the 7 Stars.  I've had this game for years but haven't bothered to actually beat it.  It really is a great game.  I'm about halfway done.

Games I'm currently playing to beat

Mario 64 on Wii VC - I have about 86 stars
Crystalis on PocketNES - I think I'm just about at the end, looking for the Bow of Sun
Castlevania Bloodlines on the Wii HBC
Castlevania ReBirth on Wii - no way to save?

But the game I play the most is the one I am programming for the NES.  It's a new Vampire Killer/ Castlevania game that has come very far in the years I've worked on it.
