Got to the level you're climbing up a shaft in Battletoads. I think I can reach the fire level on one credit consistently now

I wonder if you discovered the shortcut at the end of the snake stage or if you're doing all of the snakes.

So I have a few things to say about this game.... It is a very grindy game, it is for sure best to grind those first few levels. I got a higher score in round one by grinding than I did in 3 rounds just trying to get further along.
I hated this game when I started playing because it didn't make any fucking sense to me, but the more I play the more I get it and enjoy it! That being said...... I will post one score this week and hope it gets me in the top 8. After that, I just want to beat the game and see all the cut screens 😝

Yes it's very possible.  I was playing conservatively and I think I was on track for around 80K in a full game.  I did earn a lot of extra points by screwing up 8-4.

Oh yea I am pretty confident I can get it done...I havn't even been playing yet because the Overwatch beta was up.
 

If you're as good as you say then you should have no problem reaching 100K.  Other than tinkering with point pressing in 1-1, I only made the one attempt
 

I just know how long and boring the process is going to be and that is what the factor will be....I guess I am not really into any games right now other than chiping away at Dragon Quest VI so who knows.

Just have to get drunk and tough it out.
 

Had a pretty good run, mostly because I had a large chain that accidentally happened. I'll probably just stick with that so I can keep up with Battletoads and SNES

Yoshi's Cookie is a very enjoyable game for casual play, however I don't think it makes a great candidate for score attacks.

One strategy would be to clear all the cookies except for one 2x2 block, then accelerate the falling blocks for a bit until the area fills back up, then clear them again. But playing in such a manner could get boring; also if you stay on one stage for too long, the cookie drops will speed up to the point you can't keep up anymore.

Yoshi's Cookie is clearly about level progression rather than obtaining a high score. I'll give this a whack later this week and see how I do on it. I'm not a really competitive gamer so I'll just play it like a normal game until the cookies pile up and I'll get what I got.

Alright I'm back in a groove, my only advice is to not let it build up once you have a 4x4 or close to that if you feel they are starting to get quicker.

Unless you set yourself up reeeeaaalllyyyy good where you can eliminate enough of the board to get you back into a safe zone.

The more smaller points you get (not making big combos) the quicker they are going to start coming down, especially if you are deep in the level that will just result in a game over every time.

Ended up getting just shy of 40k my first time going for a good score.....man I forgot how quick the dam cookies start flying at ya.

Gotta hit the hay but will be back at er tomorrow.

Tried to beat some SNES games, and failed. So I played some Battletoads, and made it through the first 4 levels without a death. Then I died 3 times to Blargh (I hadn't died to him once since the first time I fought him). Then I died three times to the mines (I had never died to one). Then I fell apart in Snake Pit 3. Then I died by missing a headbutt on the islands in level 7, and then capped off the first continue with falling off a log. Both firsts.

Some days you just don't feel like succeeding.

Battletoads will do that.....once I got to Volkmire's and couldn't get passed the electric gate section I kind of just gave up for a week or so and came back to it full force.

The good thing about that section is that you game over so many times it gives you practice for the early stages and by that time you should make it there with no issues at all man.


I know you should be able to make it to Volkmire's with 1-2 deaths soon enough consistantly.

 

I'd say I really have no excuse for a death through the first 7 levels right now.  As in, at this point any dying is on me, for not executing. I cheated a bit for Volkmire and watched a longplay to help me the first time through since it seems like you HAVE to know where to go. You can't just react like in the turbo tunnel.

More than 2-3 deaths through the first 7 levels on my next attempt will be considered a disapointment
