Tim Follin did the soundtrack, so I expect it to be good!

I just recently played through Sky Shark and Tim Follin did the music for that game too. The continue screen music is the exact same in both games.

So things have finally settled down enough to refocus on competing. I grab the contest game from my shelf, fire it up. Hey, this game is kind of fun! I destroyed ALL of your scores!

I think I'm still in need of some rest...

Score update at page 1.
Thanks to Odin's beard for being able to drink again, because it is getting really tricky to increase my score.

Then get back to beating those un-football games!

But I need to get to 36K points to secure a top 3 score!
Still, fine, I will finish beating that TOTALLY REAL football game till Friday.

Hello everyone and welcome to the latest installment of the Weekly Contests!  This week's game is going to be Target: Renegade.  Here are the rules:

  • Play until Game Over
  • No looping the game.  If you beat the game, pause as soon as the game starts back up.  You may not play any part of a second loop.  If you do, your score will be disqualified.
  • You are allowed to use the extra life you get after you beat stage 1
  • Take your picture on the High Score screen (be quick it doesn't stay up long) or let the game start over, pause the game right away, and your score will be in the High Score spot.
  • Highest score wins
  • GENRE: Beat ‘Em Up

BTW, you forgot to put the participation requirement.

Well...damn.  This is what I get for posting contests before I go to bed    Haven't been on in a few days, but it looks like guillavoie took care of the participation requirement for me.  Glad a couple people were paying attention

My NES collection count: 757 games (16 to go for a full set)

The solution is clear.
Rum and wardrobe accidents.

Hey Jim, on a regular NES, the game takes you to the title screen when you power on, but takes you to the high score screen when you hit reset. That might have something to do with it.

I almost threw my controller against the wall a few times trying unsuccessfully to time jump kicks against those motorcycle assholes. I think I'm just making it more difficult than it is, and that this game isn't for me.

That's the strategy for the bosses, but they can still get in cheap hits anyway sometimes. It's not the best programmed game in the world.

Haha, yeah. Also be careful not to get between enemies.

Yes! That! That's how I ran out of time in my score run. I'm not posting my score until my comic is ready.

Punches. Occasional kicks. Then getting sandwiched

Speaking of the timer, the time is really tight in Stage 6. I'm surprised I haven't run out of time there, I've run it close.

Get used to them.
Almost all stages on Bad Street Brawler have really tight timers. Picking your fights properly there is a must.

The timer in BSB is ridiculous. Get hung up on killing enemies and you quickly run out of time.

Learning which ones drop the most point valuable weapons that are trashed at the end of the stages really help you deciding which ones you will fight and which ones you will run away from.
I love that game, but still, I wouldn't mind if the timer ran twice as slow.
