Let me preface this post with a warning: I have not yet beaten A Link to the Past, but plan to do so when I get some free time.

With that said, are Goddess of Wisdom and Parallel Worlds (Remodel) worth playing through? I haven't searched much info on them to dodge possible spoilers, so I ask: what do they do significantly different from ALttP? What do they NOT change with respect to ALttP? Are they worth buying a repro for, and if so, from whom it is recommended to buy?

Thanks in advance for answering!

PD: I wasn't sure where to put this topic, so I put it here since it is related to playing games.

Play Link to the Past and enjoy the best game in the series(imo) before speaking of any hacks.

I don't know, I may not have finished the game, but from what I played, I had less fun than with Link's Awakening...

These two are the best IMO, A Link to the Past and Link's Awakening. Link's Awakening is a very immersive game, the crown of handheld gaming, but the last 3-4 dungeons from ALTTP are amazing, just wait until you get there.

I would also finish a Link to the Past before playing any hacks of it. This way it will make you appreciate and enjoy the original and the hacks (the good ones) even more.

Honestly all three of the most well known LTTP snes hacks are unique, but like most hacks... aren't truly enjoyable at times due to the fact that the authors wanted them to be hard to play.

Stick with LTTP, and all three Zelda games for Gameboy and GBC.

So the consensus seems to be to finish ALttP before anything else. I'll try to make me some free time over the next weeks to see everything the game has to offer then!

You could also buy a Super Gameboy and play Link's Awakening on the SNES... but yeah, I wouldn't bother with anything until after you've at least finished ALTTP.

ALTTP was an awesome game on the original SNES. It's usually on everyone's All-time top 10 list.

I played the b/w version of Links Awakening when it first came out and and was surprised how good it was.

I Got the GBC version of Links Awekening because of an extra Dungeon but never got around to playing it so I can't say what the GBC version is like. But being officially in color and having more would only make a great game better.

Haven't got a clue what any of the "hacks" are like.

If you weren't into LTTP, hacks are probably not going to change that. If you are into LTTP, then finish that first and then move onto hacks.
