I remember reading in a third-party player's guide that after leveling up to 8 on Attack. Magic and Life, every 9,000 points nets you a 1-up. Personally I think this was 'filler' for the guide, as in the second-run-through of the game, 9,000 points just lets you restore your abilities. But has anyone tried it during the first game?

I was thinking it gave you a refill or life or magic, *and* a one up, but I don't remember, been years since I got maxed levels. Cause I sure never put a c-clamp on my nes advantage and let link sit in the swamp for 3 days killing birds, no not me. Never would do that.
