Hey hey hey! I made that avatar! Also I hate that Zelda has DLC but whatever, it doesn't detract from the experience.

Yeah, been sort of on the fence about it. i don't usually buy a lot of DLC. But, i like to support Nintendo so may purchase it anyway. Just doesn't seem like its as good of a deal as their Mario Kart 8 DLC was. But who knows, maybe the extra stuff they are talking about will turn out to be awesome!

Hey hey hey?

There's nothing wrong with offering the DLC, as long as it's truly optional bonus stuff, like they did for Mario Kart 8.

Watched a few reviews on Youtube with some gameplay - this Zelda just simply looks sick. It's an open world like the original NES, with the 3D execution of OOT - just looks amazing. Cannot wait.

Apparently my copy for the Wii U is currently out for delivery! If it's there when I get home I'm gonna freak. I'm not sure if I should wait for the Switch version or play around with this one...

Well I had a dream last night that I was playing it, so needless to say, the hype is real now.

Even though it was only a dream, it was an amazing game, so take that for what it's worth.

I am hoping that this will be the Zelda game that combines the 2D world exploration of games like LoZ and LttP with the story and graphics of games like Skyward sword.

A good explanation of what I am talking about can be found here:

You need to be mindful of their durability, which is only detailed in words; the ambiguity this creates is the one shortcoming of Breath of the Wild that stands out early on. Most of the swords, spears, clubs, and shields found in the early hours of the game break after just a few fights.

Do not like this.

It's definitely new for Zelda but I'm intrigued by the ability to pickup and use items from defeated enemies.  On the plus side, you'll have a lot of diversity.  On the minus side you'll have to manage your inventory a bit.  Probably stock a club or two, a sword, etc.

It will be OK if there's no equip load so I can just carry 1000s of backups.

All the reviews i've seen have been "dont buy a Switch at launch", but BoTW is getting rave reviews.

I keep hoping to hear more about the actual dungeons in these reviews. It sounds like the game is set completely outdoors, which to me would be a let-down. I always imagined exploring this massive world for 9 (or more) levels to beat. Also, the weapons deteriorate and need repaired, a major pet peeve of mine.

It's, like, the whole world is a dungeon, man.

ditto on the weapons

If it's anything like it is in Dragon Quest Builders,it shouldn't be too bad. You just make multiples of that item and equip the new one when the old one breaks.
