World Heroes and World Heroes 2 are done.
I kind of love those silly Neo Geo ports on the SNES.

Loxx O))): Ultraman is freaking cool. I love the series as well.
Nothing quite like a man in spandex fighting another man in a rubber monster suit among a model city made out of cardboard and styrofoam!

Took one for the team and beat the worst Pit Fighter port of them all. How did they release this fucking thing in alpha state?
And also took care of Super Variable Geo on the SFC. So happy they took all the lewd stuff out of it on this port...

Nice one!

Be glad you don't have any reason to feel compelled to do the other two campaigns, as I think they'd have you throwing boulders off mountaintops. The Central American campaign isn't so bad, but the Indonesian campaign has two incredibly difficult missions, one of which has a mystery bug which kills you when you attempt to land unless you do it in exactly the right way.

Are we going to beat the January record this year? We're going at a good pace so far.

Contra III: The Alien Wars is done on hard.
And with that I am done for the weekend. Tomorrow I am back to work, so I will be beating less games for the next weeks.

Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 and Double Dragon V: The Shadows Fall are done.

Either the SNES version of UMK3 is easier than the balls hard DS port or I've gotten a lot better at fighting games.

SD Ultra Battle: Ultraman Densetsu is done if we are going to count it.

It's a fairly simple fighter.  You don't need Japanese experience to beat it.  Select the first mode (single player), then press A when you select a fighter and continue to use the A button to confirm things (actually took me a while to get the game started so that's why I want to note this here).  Once you get going it's pretty straight forward.  3D plane fighting game. Y punches, X is your super, A jumps, B kicks, R blocks.  If you get close and punch you do a throw.  There are only 3 enemies and you'll cycle through them 3 times (I think that's how many times it was) with each cycle getting more difficult.

Cute little game... I may have to find a translated cart.

And with this, I am officially done until next weekend.  Good luck, guys.  Seems like we're kicking ass so far.

Clue, Frogger, and The Great Waldo Search are completed. A couple quick ones to help me pad my score. So far there has been a good start to this year.

Just asking, why wouldn't it be counted?  Was it released in the US somehow, like Ranma 1/2 becoming Street Combat?

Well done with all the games

It wasn't released anywhere else as far as I'm aware. Never even played a game like it on SNES. It just seemed like it wasn't a sure thing every SFC only game would be counted as there are some stipulations (like what you Just said or it being impossible for English only players). Just giving some info about the game so we have a solid base. And like I said, if it wasn't counted for whatever reason it was still a fun experience.

It's probably not for others, but I find it weird how two niche things I'm into are SFC only and there is little info regarding them online. Usually these games are out there but I didn't see much about the Ultraman game or Turbo online. Hell, I've never even seen a SFC copy of the Turbo game for sale.

Every game will count unless it had a US release, even in mutated form

That record is going to get destroyed even without the SFC games.

... Considering the 33 games here plus the 20 on the NES thread and that it has been only 8 days into 2018, I think I need to lay down the joystick for a bit.

Maybe.  There is only so many fighting games, and so many Math Blasters or Mario Early Years games

Remember last year you thought we'd take down the entire library and still fell 150 games short despite destroying any and all previous years

Speaking of fighting games, you guys have completely obliterated them.  Nice job, and thanks too, because I hate them and won't play them.  Consider this Mortal Monday.

You should probably just give up on that dumb ol' NES thread.  They've already cleared everything, it's old hat
