Hello NintendoAge and welcome to the 2011 NintendoAge Weekly Contests!  Once again, I will be managing the leaderboard for the weekly contests.  I will also be a moderator for the contests once again this year, so please feel free to send me a PM if you have any questions, comments, or concerns about the leaderboard or anything related to the contests.  Good luck to everyone who participates!

**AWARDS ICONS**

As many of you may have noticed, many users on the site now have awards icons listed below their profile information on the forums.  Instead of prizes being awarded this year for the top leaders on the Weekly Contest Leaderboard, awards icons will be given out instead.  "How do I earn one of these icons" you say?  Well, if you finish in first, second, or third place on the contest leaderboard at the end of the year, you will earn one of the following icons:

1st place overall: Legend of Zelda Magical Sword icon with the year below it
2nd place overall: Legend of Zelda Master Sword icon with the year below it
3rd place overall: Legend of Zelda Fairy Sword icon with the year below it

For anyone who meets the participation points in any contest throughout the year will earn the following icon:

Ever thought about posting the next couple weeks games here? Figure it would be nice to hunt down the next game in case somebody does not have it. More importantly it gives me an excuse to go look for more games.

I had mentioned a game schedule a while ago also. I think it would be a great idea to get more people playing. I know I missed a lot of contests due to not having the game before I got a powerpak.

Someone may say it would give people an unfair advantage. I think if we were to come up with a list of games, maybe 4-8, and randomly pick from that list each week (and add 1 new one), it would allow everyone to have a chance to find/buy the games and have a smaller chance for someone to get extra practice time.

Also, since the games are picked by the people who play in the contest, there is already an unfair advantage for the person who picks a game they are really familiar with/maybe their favorite game.

I thought of that...but the contest is a long term consistency based contest...so practicing one game for 3-4 weeks is only going to get you one win...but not the entire cup.
If a player is truely the best, they will be able to master each game in the one week.
I was so upset when I missed Super C because I did not get a heads up.

I like the idea of posting a list of games that will be played in the future. That way, those who want to participate and don't have the game can get it so they can participate. I will post a list of upcoming games in my 4th post above (underneath the post that lists the current weeks contest with the rules for it).

I like it. That is perfect. Fair for everybody to start hunting down the ones they are missing, but makes it hard enough that people would have to play a lot of games to get an unfair advantage.
