I might as well post some of my stuff to I guess. This is some of it, but mine is more spread out and won't fit in one picture.

The pics are missing a bunch of my test stuff, all my Nintendo Power zines, and all my multi carts and PAL stuff, but you get the idea. ;-)

I just picked that up last month for around $30 -- I hadn't seen it before either. Pretty cool (and extremely heavy):

I think that's why I decided to dedicate an entire room (two conjoined rooms actually) to the collection. If you plaster the walls with NES stuff, then it all blends in! LOL, I've been trying to organize mine for months. Last time Jason was at my house was the last time it was relatively organized.

NGD, I've seen it before, but I gotta say: that giant NES kicks ass!

I must say though, I'm stunned that you guys don't have your CIB's in box protectors. (I'm also shocked to see all the vertical stacking: It's terrible for the boxes and a major pain if you want to play the lower games). Am I the only hardcore NES collector here who uses protectors on all his boxes and stacks them horizontally, the way God intended? Haha

But excellent pics overall, I must say.

-------------------------

My mantra, as worded by SamSpade on 06/12/12:
I don't resell to fund my collection, I don't treat this hobby like a second job, I don't care if my collection is worth ten bucks or ten thousand because I never plan on selling it. Seriously, what does the value have to do with anything if you never plan on selling? Speculation doesn't mean jack shit to me at this point, I just want to play my nes games...

I'll post a couple of pics some day here, too much of a mess at the moment, pales in comparison to these collections

Dain: Get that CopyNES off your shelf and hooked up dammit!

If you know where I can get some for 10 cents or less a piece I would be glad to put all mine in them...I could never bring myself to pay more than 10 cents for 2 cents worth of plastic.

The ones that I have stacked horizontally are sealed games, so I wouldn't be playing those anyway

I agree as well that if I could get them for .10 each, I'd buy plenty. I'm not willing to spend upwards of $1 for them. Granted, I do have some, and I use them for some games.

Wow Dain, IMPRESSIVE! In reply to the question regarding the color of video games...I fully agree Kenny! I don't think that the colors are an issue with Dain's collection, though...like he said he hangs a lot of stuff up on the wall (looks very nice...I also planned on doing this once I have found a permanent location for my collection)...and he uses a lot of black shelving, which IMO is the best color to use. Very nice collection man!! Amazing amount of games and accessories, and I really like how you organized everything. I never realized that the big box Gyromite was so much bigger than Stack Up!

I also saw you win that auction for the Control Center...I've never seen it before either. Very nice item!

I've got a couple of questions...what's the item to the left of the Game Genie hanging on the wall? A NES-to-PC cable or something like that? Also, does the cleaning solution above the Game Kleen have Nintendo NES anywhere on the packaging?

Thanks!

Question,
Since I know Dain and Jason both have multiple copies of Huge Insect... did that game have instructions in any of the 4 versions? I know there are none referenced in the NA database here?
Thank you!

The item to the left of the Genie is a USB kit for controllers (2 port), similar to the RetroPort. If you recall in the review I did, I mentioned the ones that look like they'd been assembled in someone's garage -- that's what I was talking about. Granted, it works fine, but if you look closely, it's a homemade job.

The item above the Game Kleen is called the RadioShack Edge Connector. It is used to clean the contacts of games, and has a sticker on it (from RadioShack I think) that says for cleaning the connector edges of NES Nintendo games. There's still a guy on ebay that sells them for a few bucks.

The two versions I have do not have instructions, and the third one I hope to be getting soon doesn't either (the orange one). Jason has the green one, so I'll let him chime in on that version. But, I don't think the game came with instructions at all, not even the tiny photocopied version that some Sachen games came with. I've updated the database to reflect that the game didn't come with one.

BTW, I have all the other Sachen manuals -- I'm going to try and scan those today.

I just checked all three colors of mine, Green, Blue, and Purple. None of mine have any instructions either. I would say it is a safe bet they it didn't come with any since it wasn't actually "released"
