...and Free Fall (Fish Fall). I worked at Color Dreams/Wisdom Tree during it's heyday in the early 1990s and created some graphics for King Neptune's Adventure (my first game!) as well as music for Bible Adventures. And loads of other junk.

The host for this site has been very kind in his assessment of our awful games. I know they suck, for the most part, but they do have a certain level of charm 20 years on.

Anyway, I look forward to visiting this forum regularly. Don't be afraid to criticize Secret Scout even though I'm here. I'm so used to it!

Paulyshobby, sorry about the music. The tool to create the music was not the most user-friendly. But that's no excuse. I wish I had more time to perfect that game. I was pressured to release it within a certain time.

Would you happen to have a stash of Secret Scout manuals in your basement?

Now that there are no time constraints in the way, do you have any plan to either improve or re-release any of your past work? Any possible sequels?

And welcome to the site!!

Ever consider writing another game now that dev tools like emulators make it faster? An ezine article about the programming environments you had would be great. From what I have seen the games were mostly a script or compiled language instead of asm?

No, I kind of put it behind me until I saw a renewed interest among NES collectors.

Sorry, no manuals in the basement, or anywhere else. I own a copy of the game, but it's nothing spectacular. In fact for years it has been sitting in a drawer getting crushed by wires and electronic gadgets. The box is all messed up. Same with Bible Adventures. I probably couldn't even sell them.

Hmm, now those are some interesting ideas. Does anyone have an NES development platform they can loan me? I either threw mine out or gave it back to Color Dreams.

Oh! Oh! Hands up!

In the artwork, do you know if he's running full-out, or punching with his whole body, or just caught in the middle of awkwardly falling off his trophy pedestal?

Actually as far as the gameplay goes, I like the concept that most of the enemies aren't one-hit-kill-em-all dummies (like Double Dragon and River City Ransom), but it gets really difficult really quickly. Fighting this type of enemy on platforms over bottomless pits is just nasty

I don't critisize games I haven't played, and I tend to like games people think are shitty (love finding something good in a bad game), so you won't hear any critisism from me. I might contact you at some point in the future though...working on a project that I'm having a bitch of a time researching, so I'll probably pop you a private message in a couple weeks when I have my new computer

-------------------------

"It's always amazing to me how some of the most worthless games from a gaming perspective tend to fetch outrageous amounts of money. But then again, it could be said that something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I'm curious if the high bidder of the $873.04 Stadium Events (cart-only) realizes that it's nowhere nearly as rare as about 20+ games I can think of that sell for 1/10th that amount?  At any rate, I wanted to draw attention to this trend: if people say it's rare, it must be true, and therefore it must be had at any price."

Huge welcome to the site. It's always neat to meet people who were involved NES in development.

I'm going to read through your 'Making of' page right now. Looks like it will be a good read.

The "custom programming language" is something you just won't find now. Time to read the Nerdy Nights tutorials here and learn assembler!
