Does anyone know how many different kinds of wireless snes controllers in existent? Anything that is non-infared red. I wanted to make a wireless controller but I don't know anything about the programming the receiver thing. So I was looking to see if there's any decent 2.4 ghz controllers. Probably can even mod it to fit on the original snes shell if that possible.

a company named PlayMessiah made wireless NES, NES Advantage and SNES controllers in the mid '00s. Better known for the aesthetically pleasing but poor performing "NEX" NES clone console.

I have the SNES controllers, some don't like the "circle pad", but I've found it to be an exellent controller. They had a total of 4 channels which made wireless bomberman a possibility.

I don't know the tech behind them, but it's not anything like the '80s wireless crap, these pads are easily as good as a wavebird. (even better, since they have turbo, slow, and turn off automatically after a 10 or so minutes of no activety)

Retrobit/innex has some.. just searh for "wireless snes" on ebay. They are good, however the reciever unit should be opened up and hot glued on the connector pins as the pins can be pushed back in the casing when you push it into a snes. I had to buy another and do that mod, because somehow the first one smelled burned and got defective since one or more pin got pushed in (no contact with snes). Electronics look good, but the plastic build quality on the reciever sucks. The pins inside the connector are as good as loose from factory! On all three I have bought ^^ Other than that, no problems. Just make sure to do that "mod" before you use it.

Also, the controller itself would be awesome to mod into a original controller

I didn't know these existed till I read this thread, so I got a set.
I knew it wouldn't be hard to make them work on the NES since both use similar circuits, and I was right.
However, the controller I received is crap. It is way too difficult to get the pair to sync up and it's guaranteed to lose sync within a few minutes of play.
Anybody have a set of these that work fine? I'm hoping I just got a bad set and this mod was not a waste of time...
