Do you count Stadium Events towards a complete collection? Or does World Class Track Meet count?

Who counts Stadium Events towards a complete NES collection?  Obviously World Class Track meet is basically the same game with a different title screen so do you consider Stadium Events a variant or a different game?  Is a ~2500-$3000 game really worth it to claim you have a complete collection when a game worth a few bucks is virtually identical?

Yes, it should be included in the licensed NTSC NES set.

WCTM is the same game. So no.

And yes, we may all be headed straight to Hell, but what better place for us than this? It is our only home.
Our Heaven, and our Hell.
This, is Outer Heaven.

YES and NO, YES because it is a licensed game and it was released and sold at retail locations. NO for a couple of reasons, first is availablility and second is price, not everyone can afford or will be able to aquire S.E. SO some concider a complete set with out it for that reason.

But to call your collection complete NTSC you will need Stadium Events, and I think for the ICON here you need it as well.

I count it. If you could complete your set with dollar games, what would be the challenge and reward of completing the task? The dedication (time/money/work) it takes to finish a NES set is part of the allure imo.

It does. Diferent name. Dif title screen. Dif in game background grafx. Blah blah blah. But that being said. Do I give a sh.. No. No way in hell is my broke ass ever paying that much to have a wak ass track & field game that I have 3 versions of. If I ever find one. I'll sell it faster than.... well fast. I can see others wanting it though. And can't knock them for having/wanting it. It's very rare/ expensive and a nice piece for a collection. Just not mine.

Different product code = different game, must be counted. If anything WCTM came later so it is the variant - feel free to skip that one in your collection

Well I don't want it to turn ugly I was just wondering what people thought. I'm not necessarily opposed to paying for the game but the problem is I just can't find it anywhere, it's nearly impossible to locate.

Personally, it's one of two games for the NES I never want. I want all the others. If I ever stumble upon one in the wild, I freely admit I will sell it for as much money as I can possibly get, as quickly as possible.

However, it's a personal choice. And I'm not about to tell anyone who dropped 2k on a game that they didn't need it for their set.

Your collection..you decide

Everyone is going to have an opinion. But, at the end of the day...only one opinion counts..and that's the guy (or girl) that writes the checks for the collection and plays the games in the collection.

What does it take to get a complete set award on here? There's your answer.

-------------------------

My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Ferris pass out at the Let's Play Gaming Expo last night. I guess it's pretty serious.

Oh, my WTB thread is very popular. The sportos, the motorheads, geeks, sluts, bloods, wastoids, dweebies, Richard craniums - they all adore it. They think it's a righteous thread.
I'd also like to add that I've got my father's gun and a *scorching* price guide for aftermarket Nintendo games.
Between Dragon Warriors and nothing... I'll take Dragon Warriors - for any of my FT/FS/FO items.

The way I see it is, well you need SMB, Duck Hunt, World Class Track meet AND SMB/DH, SMB/DH/WCTM, to complete a set and they are just variants and they don't even change the titles of the games so technically speaking yes it counts.

Of course it counts, it is a licensed game by Nintendo, released by Nintendo..it is part of the set.
Brian is right on with the codes.

If anything, Flintstones 2 should not be counted because it was not "Sold" in stores.
BUT IT COUNTS TOO!

the game wasn't released this side of the Bravo river so I don't count it as a must have in my collection.
But if I was to get a complete USA NES set it would definitely be on the list.
There must be other games that were never distributed in Mexico and the rest of Latin America, but getting an official release list sounds like near impossible since Nintendo of America left that task to C. Itoh (later known as Itochu).
