Hello everyone and welcome to the first round of the 2016 NintendoAge Weekly Contest Tournament! The game for this round will serve up some awesome arcade action with good old Mario Bros. Here are the rules (Participants, please read the rules carefully for your tier to make sure you play by the correct rules. Failure to play by the correct rules can result in your score being invalid). Participants, please make sure to include your tier number when you post your score. It will make it easier to calculate the final results at the conclusion of the contest. Remember, the top 6 scores in each tier will advance to the semifinals (The bottom two scores in tiers 1 and 2 and the last place score in tier 3 will be eliminated from the tournament). As soon as you lose a life, press pause, prepare yourself for your picture (camera, username, etc.), and press pause again before taking your picture so we can see the phase you're in and your lives counts.

If you roll the score, be sure to take a picture just before you roll the score and right after you roll the score. Do this for each roll of the score.

IF YOU REACH PHASE 0 (LOOP THE PHASE COUNT), YOUR RUN ENDS THERE. TAKE YOUR PICTURE IMMEDIATELY AND MAKE SURE WE CAN SEE YOUR LIVES COUNT AND THE PHASE 0.

No point racking, point exploits, etc are allowed whatsoever. Anyone suspected of of doing any sort of point racking or using scoring exploits will be immediately eliminated from the tournament.

The contest ends Sunday, 10/30/16 at 11 PM NA time. Your user name MUST be written or typed on a piece of paper and be in the picture for your score to be valid. The entire TV screen, or computer monitor if you are playing on an emulator, MUST be in the picture for the score to be valid. No partial screenshots will be considered or accepted. No screenshots by hitting "print screen" on a computer will be allowed. You must take a picture of your computer monitor. There may be instances where this will be acceptable, but it will be at the discretion of myself and the contest organizers. Also, the use of turbo controllers is forbidden, as well as any cheat codes, Game Genies, slow motion functions, or save states if playing on an emulator. Also, we will only be using NTSC systems for the contests. The use of PAL systems will NOT be allowed. Good luck everyone and have fun
