Hey everyone and welcome to Block 4!  The first game of this block is going to be one of the most famous arcade games of all-time: Pac-Man.  Here are the rules:
  • Play whichever version you choose (Tengen Licensed, Tengen Unlicensed, or Namco)
  • 1 life only
  • Highest score wins
  • Genre: Arcade

The contest ends Sunday, 6/17/12 at 10 PM NA time.  Your user name must be in the picture for your score to be valid.  The entire TV screen, or computer monitor if you are playing on an emulator, MUST be in the picture for the score to be valid.  No partial screenshots will be considered or accepted.  Good luck everyone and have fun!

I'm horrible at pac man so I'll just go ahead an post what I've got.

15,150 on tengen licenced

Yeah, all three version are identical except for the Title screen, which is really pretty close anyway.

Ms. Pacman licensed vs unlicensed, actualy IS different.

Good to know. I only have the tengen unlicensed Pac Man so I wasn't sure if it was the same game or not. Didn't know that about Ms. Pacman either. Thanks for that info sir

I can usually make it to the second intermission before I run out of lives. Occasionally, I can clear the first two screens before dying. Based on the scores posted, a lot of the results look close to what I would get after a few tries. In other words, they look like real scores. Based on the screenshots, nobody's pretending to be a Billy Mitchel by using a Game Genie to cheat. I'll have to plug my black Tengen cart in tonight.

Just wondering, since I am a bit new here, is it random time until next contest begins after Pac-Man ends, or is there a scheduled contest after this? If so, when is it..? I seem to have missed that part...

Finally, a game I'm a beast at! And before anyone calls shenanigans I should mention I owned a cabinet of this game for close to 22 years.  Sadly, I had to sell it last year to help fund the rebuild of my VW bus' motor. May take another run at it before contest closes but dont think I will get much better than that.

I cant help but listen to the Ghost Busters theme song when I've been playing this. Maybe I'm lame but it really takes me back to the 80's...I think i'm enjoying this far to much

Having a blast so far, took me a while to get this score though. I get pretty greedy trying to get 3000 per big pellet and it screws me over often.
