The cover for that maxi-single CD is even better (shadow of two rhinos fucking in the sunset).

10 for me.   Mike Patton is a genius.

Nominate Blondie for next week.

Also, these two shouldn't be missed (especially his screams in Another Body Murdered):

They came to a casino the next state over a few years back and I was bummed I missed it.

Another fun Mike Patton fact for you hockey buffs- he was the witness signature on Dan Boyle's contract when he signed with the Rangers.

This one made me smile a bit (it's a Jay-Z and Kanye cover) :

Legend.

Also I'd like to nominate The Birthday Massacre, mainly because I do think they are a great band, but I'm sure it's gonna have some polarizing opinions due to their more goth-synth-esq(?) vibe.

Plus they also did a FNM cover a couple years back, so they get brownie points solely on that.

Nah not really liking it. I like some with similar styles incorporated in their music, but not really this. Never heard of this group. Maybe ive heard a song or two just never connecting it with a name. Ive heard worse.

4/10

after listening to a few more singles i kniw a couple of those. I was born in 1986 so i was too young to hear this on the radio and didnt watch mtv till the mid 90s at the earliest.

Oddly enough it was their satirical country album that got me back into classic country. Great band.

I really should make a requirement that all zeros and tens are claimed in order to count

Make ABBA a Music Debate topic at some point; the girls (the A's) were so cute and hot!

Six of the "10" votes are at least claimed, and a few others that commented may have voted that way too.

A bit surprising, but maybe not with our crowd here?

Yes, the B's had a major hand in making both of the recent Mamma Mia! movies and made cameos in both movies. But the A's were the lead singers most of the time and they were cute and hot

I already did Satanic ABBA.  Regular ABBA has to wait.

Solid tunes. Voted a 6.

Would love to see Killswitch Engage up for nomination. Such an underrated band that switched lead singers a few times. I prefer Howard Jones and he quit for a minute battling depression.

Jesse Lynch was equally as awesome.

Rose of Sharyn

This Fire Burns

Starting Over

Among others. Good stuff.

I missed this.  Fitting, because Jesse Leach on Angel Dust:

Angel Dust is still one of the most diverse metal/rock records you will ever hear. It pushed the boundaries of what you can do with a voice. Mike Patton had done it on previous records of course, but Angel Dust by Faith No More is the one that offered so much creativity to how a song could be written and what you could do with a voice.

“I first heard it when I was just into high school. I just couldn’t get enough – I memorised all the lyrics, I used to sing it with my friends. It changed my life and the way I saw music – it made me excited to try new things as a musician. As a hardcore punk, all I did was scream, but this is the first band that made me want to sing, and figure out how I was gonna do that.

“It changed everything – especially for people of my generation. If you drop Mike Patton’s name to any musician, it doesn’t matter if they’re a fan or not, they just have to respect the man, and that’s all due to Angel Dust. You get the Mr. Bungle fans of course, but to me it doesn’t touch Angel Dust – it’s by far Patton’s superior work, instrumentally and vocally.”

Agreed. Man up if you vote zero.
