One of my former bosses used to work at Nintendo, and gave me this prototype Gamecube controller. Looks fairly similar to the one found in the middle of this thread. He didn't really go into detail about it, so I don't know much about it either. Figured I would post a few pictures and see if anyone has any cool tidbits.

Very cool. I would love to own and frame that; it's a prototype for the best controller ever made!

There's a B button, it just looks like the X/Y buttons, which is kinda cool, but I see why it was changed.

Interesting piece.

The bean shaped B button is really interesting, I kind of liked the idea of a central button with others around it.

If you could re-install the early B, X, and Y buttons, then I will buy the controller. I've been wanting to own a prototype item for a goddamn long time! You don't even know! $30, please, if you can. I don't mind if you prefer a higher price, I'd just be happy to own that thing!

Does this mean I can purchase it? (As long as the missing buttons can be re-installed.)

I dunno... Maybe try the Single-Button mode?

I'd buy it without those buttons. Never modify any prototype. Let it be. Very nice piece.
Gamecube controllers are one of the best especially those wavebirds. Just loved them.

I think this is a test controller.
