Don't know if I'll be able to "keep" any of this yet but I just got back from the flea market with this... Definitely NOT an April Fools joke

It's not the right game. PAL-W6-0 is PAL Isolated Warrior, not PAL Rollergames (PAL-U5-0). That means the smugglers were handling at least one more title than we were previously aware of and the boards got swapped. I asked the vendor if he has a copy of Isolated Warrior but I'm still waiting on a response.

Thanks. It's looking more and more prevalent. If people are losing track of them or getting busted often enough that we get so many glimpses, imagine how much of this is going on unseen.

If you're trying to get more just go back to the vendor and pick up every NES cart to see if any feel heavy.

There should be no doubts about this being real now:

Contains the full call to the police and the initial response. I never even mentioned to you guys that I got another Wii kiosk remote that day.

For the full police response including the second officer:

I was told not to let the flea market vendor know that we had called the police even though he already knew what we found. They needed time to check the place out with dogs and hoped to get there before anyone was expecting them. Being a weekend flea market vendor, this was his first business day since we picked it up April 1st. This prevented me from publicly sharing proof that this was not an April Fools joke. The videos clearly show that we called and made a report to the police on April 1st right after our discovery. You'd have to accuse us of making a false police report as an April Fools prank to go on thinking that.

100% real, guys.

LOL! No. Just want it to be identified and dealt with like the others (turned in to the police - I think I can share that publicly now). I had work all day today anyway, which is why I couldn't just show up (totally would have if I could).

He finally did answer and tells me he didn't get/doesn't have a copy of Isolated Warrior. I know I saw this game somewhere recently. It occurred to me that the person trading them in may have traded more in with the other big game vendor at the same flea market. Now I gotta find out if he has Isolated Warrior lying around.

Just YouTube being stupid and giving me an Edit URL when I went out of my way to get the final link. It should work now.

Even if they chose to wait until the next business day, they had a full week to prepare. If their goal was as stated (to get there with drug sniffing dogs before anyone had the chance to sell, move, hide, or discover more) then they had their opportunity and it’s too late now regardless of what I say/do. They can’t expect me to keep it from the vendor forever since I would be seeing him again regularly and he would have questions (saw him this morning actually).

That’s why I’m OK finally mentioning the police and sharing the video now (well, midnight this morning).

LOL! They published that while I was driving to Zero Gravity Games where my brother and I found another NES game with something inside:

Don't get too excited, since it's just what a lot of people expected me to find last time. Still, a $30+ adapter for $7 is a win.

Yep. Famicom Adapter. I've found a few of those over the years...

Thought you found another illicit "bonus" item but oh well...

NintendoLife and New York Post caught wind of it after CZroe emailed a tip to Kotaku and they ran the story.

https://nypost.com/2018/04/13/vid...

CZroe even has a couple Facebook messages from media people asking for video rights. One of them is a CNN guy.

Ha ha! Wow. Wish I had some videos up from my trip to Japan last year.

I wonder what they thought of the similar story from last year about the live spiders being smuggled in Famicom carts. Of course, those were bootleg so they probably didn’t come from Japan, but they are more familiar with them. I learned of that story while I was on the Thailand/Japan trip and I genuinely worried that some of my Famicom games would get searched (thus, likely damaged) on the way back home.

Luckily, the TSA didn’t touch them. I did get my bags searched another time for having two “commercial use only” VCRs. I got home and found the notice inside but something was missing: The geniuses lost my extended warranty paperwork for something I needed to make a claim on a couple weeks later.

Kinda funny seeing this hit all the Facebook groups where I tried to share it earlier. Skepticism is healthy but for some reason it all melts away as soon as something vaguely resembling news shares it.

Talked to Tommy of Gator Games at the same flea market this morning and found out that someone had cleaned him out of an entire row of NES Golf from his $3 rack just yesterday. I think they’re treating these like lottery tickets! I also talked to another big game vendor, Inez, and she told me that people were pouring over her copies as well. Now she knows why.

Talked to the vendor that actually sold them to me (Dylan of Infinite Games LLC) and asked again if he knew where they originally came from. He told me that he had recently purchased several games from other flea market vendors and threw them on his shelf. Makes sense, since he often beats me to the games that randomly pop up from non-gaming vendors (he has the advantage of being able to browse when the market is closed).

It's like we're always racing each other.   Most recently, I went back to a certain vendor for 3DO Super Street Fighter II Turbo and he had already grabbed it... so I bought it off him instead.

A year before that he beat me to $5 NES Toki but I only needed the manual that he accidentally left.   The old man had a Nintendo Z bag full of games and was asking $5 each regardless of title.

He doesn't always beat me though. When I got that $1.43 SEALED Super Everdrive that I found on some DVD table a couple years ago I bumped into him while he was looking for that same vendor. Someone tipped him off about games hidden in the mix! He looked through my finds and and was particularly disappointed that I got a sealed Viewtiful Joe DVD that he totally would have bought. It was his birthday and, sensing that he was the bigger Viewtiful Joe fan, I gave it to him. That was also only $1.43 so I followed that up with a Viewtiful Joe retail poster that I've had since around 2004.

My son... gives me Helpful Nintendo Hints that are far too complex for the adult mind to comprehend. Here's a verbatim example: "OK, there's Ganon and miniature Ganon and there's these things like jelly beans and the miniature Ganon is more powerfuller, because when you touch him the flying eagles come down and the octopus shoots red rocks and the swamp takes longer." And the hell of it is, I know he's right. - Dave Barry

Actually not. These ignorant fools are actively searching for dope inside the carts and will probably destroy the cases one by one getting them open, since I seriously doubt they own a security bit. Worse, if they find dope, they could OD on it or try selling it on the street. Without knowing what it is or what it is laced/cut with, they (or their customers) are playing Russian Roulette if they try to sample the goods.

LOL. I think my NES Toki still has the $4.95 Replays sticker on it. This was around 2005ish though so most uncommon games that weren't from A-list franchises were typically $5 or so.

I kinda wish I'd left those "thrift badges" on them as a reminder of what they used to go for. I bought a Bomberman II off an Amazon reseller for $35 back a couple years before prices exploded. It also had a $4.95 Replays Sticker that simply said "Bomberman" on it. LOL my dealer got a steal on it. Now it's triple digits so no way I'd buy one at current market price.
