I am also on 1.20 b6. What are side B error roms anyways? Also TheCalvalry does the Mario World Hack work for you?

The side B error ROMs are just a subset of FDS ROMs that are cordoned off by smokemonster in a different folder than the rest. They have issues running. It's about 20 ROMs like that, all fairly obscure except super lode runner.

For Mario World I assume you mean the Super Mario World listed in unlicensed games. It runs on my everdrive and AVS with some minor graphic issues at the bottom of the screen that don't impact gameplay.

I too have had the same issues. Can't get any FDS games to work on the ED. I also get the Grey screen. I have reformatted, used a new card, downloaded the smokemonster set, downloaded latest firmware, etc. My only conclusion is that the AVS does not work for FDS games on the ED or its an issue with the ED cart itself.

I'm not really sure but like I've said before I went to the Everdrive forums (I'm not a member there I was just reading because I got directed from a Google search) and some people were having the same issues on their NES Front Loader. It was never resolved (by that I mean people stopped posting) and the date of the thread was like 2015 though.

This conclusion that it doesn't work on AVS is not correct. My Everdrive N8 is able to play FDS games via AVS. I have also tested today on OS v15 and there are still no compatibility issues at all for me.

You could have an issue with the ROMs, SD card, or your Everdrive. But, it definitely works. Might want to reach out to Krikzz for help.

Did you download new files or just put back your old ones? Try the newest version, v15

My vote is still that you have bad headers (I downloaded the same set you've referenced multiple times and the headers weren't correct for the few games I tested).

I'm exchanging the Everdrive. I'll get back to you guys on Thursday maybe. It comes back on Wednesday.

Don't forget that some collections of FDS titles have no header on their files, and you need a header for most emulators and the flash carts. FDS images work on EverDrive, PowerPak and FDSStick.

I don't recall if I actually got Super Mario Bros. 2 to work at some point. I think I did when I first tested it and assumed all the other FDS games worked. That's another thing that was mentioned in that thread I referenced is that some people that can not run FDS games now were able to do so before. Also someone else said that their FDS games wouldn't run on their NES but it would on their friend's NES using the same Everdrive and SD card... so I'm not really sure what's going on...

Well I got my Everdrive replaced. The FDS games work now. Used the same ROMs on the same SD card.

Just popping in to say I've also been using AVS + Everdrive N8 + Smokemonster set, and the dozen+ FDS games I've loaded have been fine (4GB SD card). Very strange.

Thanks for the bump. Now I know to test FDS as soon as I get my Famicom and NES Everdrives that are en route.
