Well, auto-complete may very well be context-sensitive to your region, but Wikipedia isn't.

It's right there, front and center, at the top of the Wikipedia page for "AC Adapter." If I stumbled on it that quickly in a place that isn't particular to my sub-region, you probably will too! That's just how these things go.

You've probably heard of Ben Heck:

On these forums, many of us are aware of Retro Game Tech:

You'll probably hear it some place else by the end of the week.

No need to be sorry.  I think its amusing.  I love topics that get derailed.

Yeah, but I feel a bit bad for doing it.

I just PMed CZroe, so me and the patronizing Nostradamus will have our discussion there.

Sounds like it serves its purpose already and now the conversation has evolved.

Not sure if it's a yankee or euro term, but I've never heard of the term "wall wart" 'till now. lol

I actually found a couple other threads where you would have heard it before and simply didn’t notice. That’s the phenomenon I was talking about. It’s like the Mandela Effect!

Mandela Effect!

Let us know if you hear it again soon, will ya? If you don’t hear it again within a week I’m guessing you’ll hear it at least a few times over the next year even though it’s not exactly some new thing that’s spreading. With this sort of phenomenon, it’s inevitable!

They cost a little more, but they make WALL WARTS with multiple ports on them. I have an old Radio Shack WALL WART in my bedroom with 4 ports on it.

Literally everywhere. The cheaper usb WALL WARTS from the gas station typically cost $5.99 an they have separate USB-A to Apple or Micro cables, or sometimes come with them. Cheap USB A to C cables are also showing up now. The mini USB cables are getting harder to find though as most devices have switched over to Micro now. You can also get CAR WART USB chargers that plug into the cigarette lighter accessory in your vehicle.

And yes, I have heard the term WALL WART used dozens of times on a regular basis. CAPS for emphasis. I think I just invented the car one though...

I've heard the term, but primarily from techies. Most civilians just say "wall thingie."
