No you create the sprite with Photoshop, and insert it with the hacking software, I don't know how actually putting the sprite in works but you can't do that with Photoshop

No, it's IrfanView, not Photoshop! I'll show you how to do 2bpp images: Just follow my instructions. I hope that you're understand.

I want to try and add additional graphics to the game. Some of the changes appear to be fairly simple to implement, I'm not sure about some of the other ideas I had.

Why don't you use ready-made sprites, why don't you fix them? Or have you not downloaded my romhaсk?
Yes, I almost forgot. In the resulting sprites will have to change colors by replacing them. It's simple.

I just read in the news about a senator having a picture in his office of the statue of liberty holding her torch in the left hand and wearing a hijab. People were complaining but he wouldn't take it down. Maybe that could be in the game.

We need to think of a title to change the title screen to. Here are some ideas:

That's what I was thinking, but other than replacing graphics that are already present I can't re-program them to say that. I'm currently trying to change the hut he comes flying out of to a miniature trump tower.

Check this, dude. I replaced a head of Jim Acosta from alien head, and added a bubbles with "CNN" letters. Something like this:

I would change the orbs into monitors with CNN written on them though. It makes a bit more sense IMO.
Also, I feel this needs a better title like "Fake News Fury" or something in that vein
