I think bimmy said that you can only use half a life. Yep,half a life. Good luck everybody! Oh yeah...you also have to play every run while listening to this....

I listen to this:

That's how I became a winner!

As far as I know, I've only been quoted in a signature once, so go for it!

Maybe we should all sig it, this way, it puts all the focus on Shane while we zip past him this week

Thought, maybe he's hoping that we have our confidence built high so he can crush us like little ants.

Everyone make note that point racking/pressing IS allowed since there is a timer in this game.

This will be very interesting.
Too bad this isn't a low score contest. Now, that would be interesting!

I think this would be a horrible game for a low score contest. You'll either have relatively high scores (around 700 - 900k toward the end of the game, or very, very low scores in the first few levels).

Haha, low score contest always comes with the 'furthest in the game takes precedence' rule Adam.

True, but I still think this game would be highly obnoxious to make it a low score competition. At least with it being a high score, people don't have to worry about not having to avoid enemies in an already challenging game.

Just my $0.02.
I agree with you that high-score is probably the best. Plus, low score would mean that people will try to wait for the clock to spend its time uselessly, and it is a very boring kind of we to play.

At least you Tier 2 guys don't have to worry about Tom. He probably rolled the score 5 times and no deathed the game last night on his first practice run.

lmao

Well, if he does that, he should record his run because TG's record is 3.1 million

Exactly. I'd rather waste the clock down earning points instead of just sitting there. Besides, dodging enemies with the potential of running out of life or getting knocked into a pit would make tier 1 absolutely miserable.

Haha dude I rarely actually laugh out loud to posts but that takes the cake!

I actually haven't played the game in about a week. Looking to get some game time later today.

Oh and Crabby; you suck

My early '90s WWF humor is going to waste in Tier 1. The air is too stuffy up here!

Okay, I have updated the rules in tiers 2 and 3 so that you only get to use 3 lives total. This is going to be like the Tier 3 rules for TMNT 2, after you die for the third time, you must stop playing and take your picture. The only score submitted so far (treismac) is the only one I will accept from tier 2 or 3 on the old rules because he submitted his score while we were still debating a rules change. From here on out, you can only use 3 lives total.

Also, I have removed the first game from the Finals list. The first game removed from the list is Castlevania 3, so that one will not be played in the finals. Check back tomorrow afternoon to see what will be the next game from the list to get the axe.

-------------------------

My NES collection count: 757 games (16 to go for a full set)

Latest Purchase(s): Snow Brothers

"Wait...Bimmy and Jimmy??  How'd they make a mistake like this!?  Bimmy isn't even a real name!"

Beware the Bimmy Marsh!

Oh man .. this 1 life thing is no joke !
I like ninja gaiden but this is going to be a pain.

Just did a few test runs .Getting the game back in my head.
Writing down notes (clock times+ point racking places etc.)

You can have a super run with point racking but 1 cheap hit and it's back to the start.
This will take up a lot of time.

I need that ninja from AVGN next to me on the sofa !Does somebody have his number?

I've heard Tom doesn't use a controller to play,he uses his mind to bend the game to his will.

And bimmy, you should just eliminate all the games and then announce that we are playing a game that wasn't even on the list in the first place. And something completely random...like Mag Max.

I hear if you have 4,000,000 points in Ninja Gaiden 2, and Tom has 4,000,000 points in Ninja Gaiden 2, Tom has more points than you. I've also heard he CAN believe it's not butter.

Tom does not beat games. He just stares at the screen until they admit defeat.

This seems like a reasonable time to post the AVGN episode in case anyone hasn't seen it: http://cinemassacre.com/2010/02/0...

Tom beats games before they are even beta tested. He has also beaten Cheetahmen 2 without a game genie and also completed the minus world in SMB. It doesn't loop....for him.

Tom also beat Jesus in a head to head matchup playing a NWC cart.
