Hey everyone!  Here we are at the end of Block 3 and the final game is going to be Ninja Gaiden.  Here are the rules:

  • Play until you reach your last life (life 0)
  • Farming for extra lives is not allowed
  • You can only get each hidden extra life in the game once.  If you die in an area with a hidden extra life, you can't collect t twice.
  • Highest score wins

The contest ends Sunday, 6/3/12 at 10 PM NA time.  Your user name must be in the picture for your score to be valid.  The entire TV screen, or computer monitor if you are playing on an emulator, MUST be in the picture for the score to be valid.  No partial screenshots will be considered or accepted.  Good luck everyone and have fun!

***NOTE***
We will be taking a one week break between 6/3/12 and 6/10/12 to prepare for Block 4.

Do you stop as soon as you reach your last life or are you allowed to run your health down to the last bar? Hopefully I don't forget about the contest again this week.

no farming, but extra lifes gotten normally count? not at all?

EDIT: silly me, I didn't read thoroughly. Nevermind. I wonder what's the better way to maximize score according to the rules...

That's for sure. I beat all three of the games on Ninja Gaiden Trilogy in one sitting for the "Can NA Beat Every SNES Game In A Year thread" and by the time I was done I swore I'd never play any of them again. I'm shocked that I made it through that experience without breaking something out of frustration.

I've got a copy but dare not play it. I value the condition of my game room, hah. Related: a housemate asked if I had Ninja Gaiden 2 and I obliged; He beat it in front of me, claimed he hadn't played it since he was a kid. bastard....

I can no death run up until the last stage... then it's all over. I loathe that stage.

Awesome game. Never played for points but I'm irked that the timer resets when you enter the boss fight. I think you should be rewarded for completing levels quickly. It's the type of game that is fun just to rip through.

Might post another score later on but to top this I pretty much have to beat Boss 3 to do so.

Ok, so are we allowed to play out the last mans life before we take the shot? Im seeing scores posted two ways (buttheadrulesagain vs. twarwick07) and want to make sure I get a valid score posted before time is up.
