I got 155k the other day but I didn't bother to take a picture because I wanted to top arn's score.

The headbutt is probably the shittiest move in the game, lol.

It also takes forever to kill enemies with it, so it really runs down the timer.

People were getting over 300k in the last Double Dragon high score contest. I'll be happy to hit over 200k.

I know that it's possible to score in the 400k-500k range if you're amazing at the headbutt and point pressing. But that's not going to be me.

Anyone else have issues with wonky collision detection when trying to headbutt certain enemies where you have to get in close? It's worst with Abobo. Headbutts won't connect and now he's behind me and slapping me to death. You have to position yourself just right.

I am only semi-pro at headbutting. I think the sweet spot is just off center toward Abobo's feet.

Side note. If I'm going to actually beat the game this week, I need to just forget about score. When it's going well I can't help it!

So I just beat the game playing normally. I was going for a no-death, but had one stupid death in the stage 4 platforming section by thinking that I could just drop down to a lower platform without jumping.... nope.

Anyway, Double Dragon is so much easier than Double Dragon 2. The platforming is easier and the elbow move is way overpowered. The worst part is how the final boss spams jump kicks. I was down to one health when he died.

Holy balls everyone! I just got off work a bit ago and decided to indulge in some Colorado recreation. Took and edible ( thanks Jimturd ) and smoked a bit. Im watching the score and realize that everytime I fucking head butt when my score ends in 900 anything my fucking score goes down! Da fuck is this sorcery ?

That's a known glitch my good Richard, which makes head butting a more sophisticated manoeuvre to get a high score

As long as you skip the 9 in the hundreds, you're good for a head butt!

That provides incentive to try to beat the game without dying. Otherwise it's worth more points to burn lives (if you're good at point pressing) than what you'd gain from the bonus. It would also make the contest more fun because then a good chunk of your score would come from beating the game rather than point pressing.

EDIT: If you disagree with my reasoning or think that it's too late for a rules change then that's fine.

I would love to see a secret bonus in a contest. Maybe give some clue on what it is so it’s not completely obtuse.

I had second thoughts and decied that it's probably too late for a rules change so edited my message. As it is, it's going to be worth more to burn lives than to have them left over, if you're a master at the headbutt.
