THERE IS A "GOLD" COPY OF CHEETAHMEN: THE LOST LEVELS UP FOR PURCHASE ON EBAY. THIS COPY IS A FAKE . SOMEONE OBVIOUSLY TOOK THE BOARD OUT OF A GENUINE COPY OF THE GAME AND PUT IT INTO N OLD "GOLD" NINTENDO CART AND IS TRYING TO PASS IT OFF AS RARE.... EBAY HAS BEEN NOTIFIED.

Literally everything that ebay seller ssar3742 sells is a bootleg ds cart. The crazy thing is that even though he's sold probably over 500 bootlegs in the last year he hasnt gotten a negative about bootlegs in over a year.

Looks like a fake to me but he's seling as legit. Front label looks repro and shell does as well. Heck the board probably is too.

Not entirely sure as I am new to collecting retro games (other than what I had when I was younger.)

This Mega Man x 3 looks very suspicious to me.

The font looks a bit off on top, including the 3 looking chopped off as well as quite fuzzy.

I can spot a lot of fake sports autographs pretty easily, but this is all pretty new to me.

Reading is fundamental - the auction itself states that the label and box are custom.

Ah, that would be the problem. Unfortunately my computer must be having issues because none of the description is showing up. It just shows a very long white area and nothing else, so my apologies there.

But I'm sure in the wrong hands that would have ended up being listed as legit and then someone could have easily been taken on that. I guess I ought to see what's wrong with the laptop so I don't look like a fool again.

What makes you say the label is fake? I'm trying to learn to notice this as I've bought two online now that I have determined were fake once I got them in the mail.

Can't post a link on my phone at the moment, but maybe someone else can find it. Someone just posted an auction on eBay with aerofighters and Mega man 7. He claims to have had them since 1996, and even posted pics of the boards, but both boards clearly are donor boards with reprogrammable eeproms. Why would you post the picture of a board if you know it's a fake?
