Started Ocarina. Just blazing through and not really doing any side quests, I got to the forest temple in a little over three hours. I think I can finish it tonight.

Thanks for writing. I apologize for the delay in responding to your email during this busy time of year.
In regard to your email, it is great to hear that you have found a copy of Perfect Dark for the Nintendo 64. Perfect dark was a first person shooter game that was released in May of 2000. I personally enjoyed this game a lot during my mid-teen years since it allows for up to four players to play at one time. All the Perfect Dark cartridges were black.

I hope this information is what you are looking for.

Response I received from Nintendo customer support when I asked if they knew any thing about a black Perfect Dark cart.

That sucks! I've had that happen with other games, and it's a heartbreaker. Does that game have a battery save? Which 64 games do? I know it's not many, right? Maybe you'll feel better about tackling it again later in the year? I know I'll rage at a game and damn it to hell, and then three hours later sometimes, the game is magically on my TV again, and I've got a controller in my hand? Not sure how it happens, ha.

Update: Goldeneye is done! Really had fun with it this time. Not gonna lie. I just beat it on Agent, so I could run-and-gun to my heart's content. Only got hung up once, really. In Control, I somehow let Natalya die after she hacked the satellite stuff. Didn't even realize it happened till I'd completed the level. I think what actually happened is that I didn't wait for the objective to show up on my screen as finished. She takes a bit to get to safety, I suppose.

It does not use a battery save it is flash memory

I think it was just a timing issue as most glitches/bullshit is.......It literally just flashed very quickly at the file selection screen and then said SAVE FILE 1 with no time information etc.

It really sucks that with those games you can't make a backup save.

Yeah, that flash memory can be funny sometimes. It seems to be a problem with whether it's able to load or not. You're probably gonna turn it on again one day and your save will be back.

Kirby 64 is done, peeps. I want to love this game so much more than I do. I love the combo copy abilities and the music in this game, but the gameplay is just lacking. Too slow and clunky. None of the fluidity of Kirby Superstar or even the three Dream Land games. Still, big fan of the series, even this one.

Ha, if it seems like I have nothing else to do, it's because I don't. Trying to roll strong before the semester starts (I'm a teacher/grad student), when I know I'll have significantly less time for gaming.

I really need someone to sell me a copy of this one...I rented it once with a buddy and we beat it and havent played it again since it was released.

Good luck with the search, Toxie. It's one I've played several times, despite its flaws. Thankfully, this game hasn't blown up too crazy pricewise. I know several months ago I had an extra copy and traded it, and it was only going for like $15 or so then. I did a quick check, and it seems to have creeped up a little, but still not unreasonable.

I just made an offer on one that is actually only about a 30 min drive from me so maybe he will hook it up since it is local (kinda) hahaha!

He accepted my offer, should get it next week!

That's rad, Toxie! Let us know what you think of it when you get a chance to play.

Possibly my last game for today: Wave Race 64 is done (?). I looked in last year's thread, and it seems this is all you get, no credits? Here ya go. Let me know if I need to do more or something. I really enjoy this game. I used to just dick around doing tricks for hours when I was a little kid. Super fun, light, enjoyable game, all around.

Rad. I've never played the N64 Paperboy. Let us know what you think, obvi.

I wasted a bunch of time on Mickey's Speedway USA. I didn't realize that you needed to collect things to unlock the last one or two circuits, and I just didn't like it enough to sink another
chunk of time into it. I'm currently playing through Perfect Dark, as Goldeneye gave me a hankering to actually complete PD (never have!). I'm going to try to knock out some shorter games, too, but I'm not sure what yet--maybe a random sports title?

Edit: I forgot! I also really want to tackle Mario Party 2. Actually, I might take a break and try to knock that out tonight/tomorrow.

Ocarina of Time is done. Gosh that game is longer than I realized. You guys have all seen the ending, right? No need for pics.

Congrats! That's a long one, for sure, in my book. Every time I try to play as an adult, I end up quitting before the end. It's my dirty secret.

I'll add one to the fire tonight, too. It's not any of the ones I mentioned; PD will take a bit (for me), and Mario Party 2 is going to take a couple days, I think, if just because it's super boring to play by yourself. Killer Instinct Gold is done. I used Glacius and just button-mashed like a loser. But there it is, nonetheless.

Just beat banjo kazooie last night. Fired the last egg into the jinjonator right as one of gruntilda's projectiles was about to get missile lock and take my last honey comb away.

Big Mountain 2000 is done.  This game isn't that great. Graphics are some of the worst on the N64.  It's 4 stages of pretty much the same thing. You can choose skier or boarder. Have to beat everything with both.  They are the exact same thing though, seriously.  They can do different "tricks", but that is so minimal, that it doesn't matter.  I would rather play 1080 or Snowboard Kids.

Oh. Guess I should have posted pics of the ending then.

Mario Party 2 can be done in one day. All you have to do is play all six boards. That's it. You can come in last for each one and it doesn't matter at all. I was thinking about doing PD, but I've done it the last two years, so maybe it's time to pass the torch lol. The requirement used to be that you had to beat it on Perfect Agent so you can play all the levels. I can do this, but it takes some time. Beating it on Agent isn't too hard, though, plus it gets you the credits, so I don't see why that shouldn't be enough.

I'm working on Majora now. I love this game, so I may take my time with it. I haven't played through it a hundred times like I have Ocarina. Although, this was was the first time in ten years I'd played all the way through Ocarina. Did not realize it has been that long.

I've been hitting my head against Mortal Kombat Trilogy since yesterday. I just have such a hard time playing fighting games, it seems. I've come really close to finishing a bunch of times, but Motaro kicks my ass. Haven't even gotten to Shao Khan yet.

I'm terrible at fighting games. Don't think I've beat one since SNES days haha.

I did 1080 again this year. Makes Big mountain 2000 look even worse. I played it to death as a kid, so can beat it fairly quickly. Dragon Cave is the only stage that can be a problem sometimes. Just like last year, no Gold Man or Penguin board.

I've beaten MK4 each of the last two years. I just used Liu Kang and spammed the hell out of his flying kick. Try that.
