Finally managed to sit down to play this week and I'm out of practice and this is the only score i can post this week. Not too happy about that but it is what it is.

i have 2 scores on the list , lower one needs to be removed.

also my higher  score was 282 100.

wont make a difference because  1 more score will bump me out of top 10.

one more update to original post (nearly 100k...). Game is actually quite fun, might try to devote a bit more time to it. Sure I won't get anything close to a high score, but breaking 150k would be a personal victory

Thanks! After the loop, it becomes much harder because of the faster bullets. Even with around 20 extra lives on the final level, if I die once, I'm pretty much screwed. That's crazy that you did it.

Got the million! Hell, got the 2 million!

Watched Tom's video, very informative. Most important, for me anyway, get the turbo laser as quickly as possible. Then, just don't die! Oh, and had never switched to Double on the last stage. Have to do that too.

Yeah, I figured most of it out before watching the video last night, but I found out I was trying too hard.  A lot of the game is simple movements to the right part of the screen.  I also found an improvement over the video on getting through the Moai heads.

Yeah,I was definitely trying too hard prior to my million so I know the feeling. For the moai heads,I'd just position an option above or below me and let them do the work. With the fast lasers,you can crush that stage and basically every stage save the last one. Even with the speed double,that stage is no cakewalk.

looks like i have been officially bumped to 12th place.

I actually enjoyed this game alot. everyone knows about gradius and konami made it so the quality is there but i never remember really enjoying this game so much years ago. Thanks again to the weekly contest !!

I took one more stab at it, but died on loop 3.  It just wasn't meant to be.

Maybe if I hadn't spent so much time this weekend playing NES Jeopardy for whatever strange reason....
