Well I had recorded myself playing in the shed but the video got cut out 2/3rds through.

What was your score?

I had to do a lot of grinding just to tie with Gloves. I don't want to play this again.
 

In the video I died at the last boss (dragon). The score was around 625k

but I’ve done much better since that run. 
 

I really have been in the barn for a day and a half grinding astynax.

At this rate we may not even get 8 scores this week.  

Yoshi and tables posted scores so we got at least 8. There's still time for more scores.

This is a pretty good game, I like how long your health bar is so  theres  a high ceiling for performance.   Unfortunately  I just  didnt  sit down and bang this out until just now, I've been so into Fortnite all week and I kept choosing it over playing NES

Lol, I just started playing an hour ago, I was out of town all week on vacation.  I've beaten the game before but not without continues. I ended up beating the game on my next life anyway for that sweet 1CC. I took a picture anyway and it was unreadable, so maybe it was better I didn't beat the game before the deadline.  

I think you got a score in time arnpoly.

Hahaa! Thanks guil! I went grinder mode. I wanted that win. This one always reminds me of my grandpa. So, really nice win for ole skinny boy this week

Glovsie! I wanted to say it was cool going against you this week. I think We both had this game as kids. And it was really fun to play this one and really try to destroy it, knowing you were having the same fun. It was cool to play against another astynax fan. So, thanks for that. I had to snipe this week to have any chance. Hope a couple of you monsters get lazy loll
 

Yeah man! Nice little contest we had there. I had the game as a kid, yeah, good memories of it growing up!  

I'd like to sit down and really hammer out as low a score as possible sometime, but my wife got me an Oculus Rift for my birthday on Thursday, so I've been playing the everloving hell out of that. I'll revisit this for sure when I need to kill a half hour or two and work on perfecting it as best I can.

There is a lowest Astyanax score that is possible, if you don't kill any unnecessary enemies and beat each stage with least possible health and magic. It has to be close to what skinny got.

I think glovsie did some research and seems all unavoidable points equal 550,000. So I still scored 25k between hearts/magic remains and I don’t think I killed maybe two or three enemies. I know I destroyed a few bubbles (3-2 boss) and one or two of those seeds (4-2 boss). Other than that I kept it really clean.
