As many of you may know, I originally wrote my first Chunkout game for the gameboy color over 10 years ago. After a few people asked about if I was ever going to get it onto a cart, I can now say, it's on its way!

I'm working with Josh (qixmaster) and Ray (thefrisbee) on the production of this, and it's going to be a complete CIB release with some of Ray's fantastic artwork adding to the theme. I've received some prototype PCB's required for production, and should have some chips soldered onto these to confirm 100% that they are designed right in the next week or so. Keep up to date with some progress over at my site! (http://www.chunkout.com...).

That's awesome James.
If you keep this up, you'll have all the consoles covered, although I've heard SNES is a coding nightmare.

What about cart cases? Donors?

edit: "I've also tracked down some plastic cartridge shells from Hong Kong, so everything's coming together for the production" (source his site)
....any chance you could track down famicom ones?

this is going to be one sweet release guys! You won't want to miss out

Maybe James will eventually work on a DS version that can use the stylus. I am very excited to be a part of the production here. The artwork is S-E-X-Y!

With the cart plastics we hit a snag and the HK supplier can no longer supply them. We are now working on plan B though and should have some soon!

As a bit of a teaser, here's a picture of Chunkout Chuck who will be featuring in the packaging artwork! Thanks to Ray for the fantastic cartoon work as always!

Things are progressing along a few fronts on this one at the moment. I've found a new supplier for cartridge plastics so we won't need to butcher old carts after all!

I've also hit a bit of a wall with my electronics knowledge as I can't quite get my prototype circuit board to work (it will boot with the Nintendo logo, but then has a blank screen). So that's been sent off to have some electronic magic weaved on it by bunnyboy, hopefully it's something simple

Artwork's also progressing as you can see above, hopefully we should get some box and label drafts done over the next few weeks.

And the finishing touches are being applied to the game, damn I'm definately no musician!

Unfortunately they can be made in China a lot cheaper!

Matt over here at the Kitsch-bent store (http://store.kitsch-bent.com/...) has been fantastic with getting me hooked up with the cart plastics. They've got some pretty neat stuff in there store there too, including replacement controller plastics for the NES! (different colour d-pad and buttons)

Yeah, Kitsch is awesome. I've got a set of the NES buttons myself. Thretris made them. They're a bit rough but good nonetheless.
