I recently got into collecting N64 and a friend of mine introduced me to NintendoAge. This community is crazy!
Any tips, things to avoid etc. is more than welcome!

Welcome, Lotz. Are you going complete or cart only with your N64 collection?

Newbie collecting tips:

#1: Always be pleasant to deal with. You will make some friends conducting business with your local game people, and they will remember the nice people they meet and what they are looking for. If you help someone grow their collection, they will usually help you grow yours.

#2: Practice patience, if it's not something you consider yourself good at. Unless it's a true rarity of a game, you can probably get it cheaper than the one in your hands, or the only copy listed for "Buy it Now" on Ebay.

#3: Buy in lots/bulk, even if you have to sell some things from it that you don't want. Also, when you sell, sell as individual items if you want the most $$$, or sell things in lots/bulk if you don't want to spend the time piecing it out. That is the trade off.

#4: When dealing with a shop or a stranger or a flea market: Never be afraid to bargain with people to try and get a lower price. On the flip side: set a price you won't go above (and stick to it!). There will usually be another copy to be found.

My number one tip would be to get to know Joel. Coincidentally, the number one thing you should avoid is also Joel.

Have any GBA NFR games with back stickers for sale or trade?  See my want list below :)

Thanks guys! I am attempting a cib (296). Trying to avoid NFR, Pal, different cart colors. Those tips seem pretty legit, and I will get to know, and avoid Joel.
