Is there a difference between the initial release of AVS systems compared to the ones coming?

As far as I've heard, new ones have the USB port reinforced or something so they are less likely to break off. If original owners have this issue they can send their system in for repair. 

New ones also have the pin connector retooled to help overcome that green strip issue. There will be many extra for original owners to switch out on their systems. Not sure if there will be a charge or not.

Looks like the ship is docked in LA right now, so we must be getting close!

I will probably buy another at some point from the new batch as a backup, and so I can leave one plugged into my home setup and bring the other one to friends' houses.

I dumped a load earlier. Then I flushed it.  

All joking aside, the AVS is well worth it for any of those who are wtill waiting for it.

I just ordered at the end of August and am hoping to get in on this shipment (and to get the fastest AVS turnaround in history from the sounds of it). For people who ordered much earlier and are still waiting, does retrousb.com still show the order as being "in production"?

In production is just the catch-all status for any order that hasn't shipped yet.

Ordered 12/29/2016. Still says "In Production".

I don't see why not. It's still in stock. Which reminds me I forgot to add it when I ordered the AVS wireless controller.
