Hey everyone.  This week's contest is going to be Kid Niki.  Here are the rules:

  • 1 life only
  • 1 player only
  • No point racking
  • Participation: 30,000

The contest ends Sunday, 12/4/11 at 10 PM NA time.  Your user name must be in the picture for your score to be valid.  The entire TV screen, or computer monitor if you are playing on an emulator, MUST be in the picture for the score to be valid.  No partial screenshots will be considered or accepted.  Good luck everyone and have fun!

For anyone who has participated in the weekly contests or participates in future contests, contact Benihana for your Contest Participant Icon.

Just a reminder that the 2011 contests will be ending on December 18 because of the holiday season, so there will only be 2 more contests for the year after this one.

Oh, wow! My brother and I used to play this in the arcade, and we were ecstatic when it came to the NES. Very fun game. I'll definitely find some time for this.

Only played and beaten this game twice ever, but really liked it, will certainly give this my all, and I have the game, so that's a plus.

Yeah, I'd rather not emulate this one. I have a beat up copy of it I got in a lot a little while ago. It was covered in dried up coke (yum!) and has a screw missing from the back. I cleaned it a little before, but I didn't have a replacement screw. I'll borrow one from a Gyromite.

I was able to get the cart cleaned and played through the game today. The bubbles in "Round" 4 can be a challenge. Just no rhyme or reason to them.

Why would we not be allowed to rack points? There's a timer.

Edit: Well, maybe it's a little late to change anything. Just tell me what to do and I'll adjust my game to it.

Here's what I have for now. Gee, where'd I die? Damn bubbles.

EDIT: Well, made it past the bubbles and ridiculous moving platforms, then I kept dying on the grub for some reason. Beat the grub, and then died at a stupid part in Round 5. Oh well, that's it for me. Have fun, all!

if I don't die on the bubbles as above ^.....I can get all the way to 2nd to last boss w/o dying. One of my fav NES games. I'll have to throw my hat in if I get some spare time

I chose not to allow point racking for this game for a couple reasons.  One, to change up the rules a bit for a timed game.  Two, the timer in this game is extremely generous (Gives you lots of time to finish a level, plus it's kind of a slow timer).

Basically, kill any enemies that are a threat to you, just like with the Rush n' Attack contest last year.
