Well I've watched every single episode of Seinfeld and I've noticed that there's some NES games next to the superman on his shelves mixed in with the VHS tapes.  I thought it was pretty interesting.  In the infamous "Frogger" episode, you can get some really good shots of the games, so I snapped some pictures.

First pic shows a World Cup:

Second pic shows SuperSpike Volleyball / Tetris and what appears to be Sim City.  I swear it says Sim City, but this looks like an NES box and not the SNES version.  What do you guys think?

I thought it was interesting and my gf gave me the "OMG are you serious?" look when I paused it to see what the games were, lol.

Nice find.

But what are your guys thoughts on the Sim City?!? There is no Sim City NES, but I swear that is a NES style Sim City box!? If you look at the NES games, you'll notice the red Nintendo of America oval at the bottom, and the "Sim City" box clearly has this as well...

Jonas!! God Bless those eyeballs. I have no clue what the sim city is. I think MAXIS has a similar red logo though.

THAT'S EXACTLY MY POINT!!! I think this is a prototype box!!!! This is as close as I can get, but this CLEARLY says Sim City and it is not a SNES box...

If anyone tracks it down, cut me a finder's fee please

Thats sooo strange! I wonder why a prototype box would have been used in the show? Seems kinda odd that they would have used unreleased stuff for props on the set. Definately looks like it tho...

There is absolutely no way that is an snes box, that is CLEARLY an NES box! This is exciting! Thanks for sharing that Jone !

You decide, it looks different to me, plus it is the same exact size as the other NES boxes....

Holy Crap! I am THE biggest Seinfeld fan out there, and I tried to pay attention to every detail including the background stuff (as I have calculated that I spent over 3 weeks of my life watching Seinfeld), and I NEVER Spotted that! Thanks so much Jone!

lol I'm a pretty big Seinfeld fan too, I got all 9 seasons on DVD and obviously I got the eagle eye to spot things like this

Edit:

NOTE:  The positioning of the Games / VHS stuff changes every episode it seems... There could possibly be more CIBs used in other episodes that I just haven't paid attention to yet.

I'm not sure if that is a SimCity NES box.
The box is definitely the same size as tetris and super spike v"ball, and it does have what looks to be the Nintendo logo at the bottom, but it just seems like the "Sim" text would be too long in relation to the "City" text which is a lot more identifiable. I don't have a better explanation though.

Good catch man. Definitely the most interesting thing I've heard all week.

Very interesting indeed. I am a huge Seinfeld fan, and have probably seen every episode 5 times, but never caught those.

And that definitely says Sim City.

Can anyone ID the game directly right of the SimCity (or what is thought to be) box? If it is a SNES game, it may give more credibility to the thought that maybe it is the SNES version of SimCity.

The font is wrong for that to be the SNES sim city.

I think it's says something other than "Sim", though...it just looks odd.

What other NES games have "City" in the name?
